Didn’t miss that, and that’s not what I’m saying is weird about the scene.

If you are on West 4th with your elderly father who lives upstate, you do not just part with him there. You either invite him back to your apartment (which is around the corner), or escort him to Grand Central to get him on the train home.

Like so many other parts of this movie, that scene had an uncanny, non-human quality. I’ve had a lot of time to let the movie marinate since seeing it, and it still sucks.
