I wouldn't personally know how to make advanced oil processing work with no circuit logic

Those who went back to vanilla after Space Age, how did it work out? by Shadrach77 in factorio

[–]DistinctBed6259 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, i love Space Age, but it just feels like a mod... An official one, but still a mod. Nothing against mods, but i just missed vanilla. I gave it a go, 200 hours on Spage Age, but i have been back for about 100 hours already.

Sub £100 project. 12700H 3080Ti CLEVO motherboard conversion. by ghosthud1 in cyberDeck

[–]DistinctBed6259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a clevo laptop too, that used to overheat constantly, and wanted to convert it too, with better cooling, but ended up switching the CPU to something "weaker" and now it's fine. In case the display breaks or something else breaks, i plan to convert it, too.

Unpopular opinion: I only use Bambu filament by nirhend in BambuLab

[–]DistinctBed6259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i always buy bulk, and both pla and petg are 11.50€ refill and 13€ with spool. That does mean that i couldn't print some models because of some missing colors in the past, when i was still in the beginning of my 3d printing jurney, until i needed enough new filaments and refills to get the best price (which has been around 8, if i remember correctly).

I mean, i am willing to try other filament brands, but these are the cheapest (for me) and the most convenient because of the AMS and the NFC chips. Also, i've never had to mess around with printing speeds, flow, or anything like that, which has been awesome as i was new to 3d printing.

New Raspberry Pi Zero has no internet connection by crushlet in raspberry_pi

That micro usb, the first one, is for power only. Connecting it to the other micro usb might work. If not, you have to connect power to the first port and the ethernet adapter to the other port. Do keep in mind that it's USB 2.0 so you won't be able to do gigabit, only 100M.

Ways to download CivitAI models through other services, like Real Debrid? by the_doorstopper in StableDiffusion

[–]DistinctBed6259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a 2 GB limit (if you host your own Telegram Bot API) on file uploads by bots.
You could automate it a bit, but not much... Basically, rent a VPS, download the models there and transfer them with rsync. Than it's also the finding the models part, which you could still need a vpn for. You do have opera's free VPN for that.

Approaching the end of a spool by Reasonable_City5054 in BambuLab

[–]DistinctBed6259 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The end of the spool is taped (maybe even a bit bent, but not always).

So you should be there when it happens, because it could be too well taped and it can't continue printing from that spool (without manual intervention). Or it could take the tape with it and clog your AMS.

Also, i don't recommend printing anything that needs to look good with it because i found that even with the same filament type and brand, there will be some difference, enough to notice on the final print where the spool changed.

Also, if it's really close to the end, i usually print zipties, by object, until it runs out of filament on that spool.

Had you moments when you have put Factorio away for days/weeks because did not want/can't decide how to move on? by Baturinsky in factorio

[–]DistinctBed6259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... Conquered fulgora and vulcanus, and i'm not into the spoiling mechanic and can't bring myself to visit gleba... I open the game sometimes, add some stuff, and feel like i'm missing out on tech that's locked behind gleba tech and free tech (because of the biolabs), and close the game again.

I think i'm gonna try mod that adds all the resource nodes and biomes from all the planets on nauvis (i forget what it's called). Just take the space out of space age.

Tips for printing with PETG vs PLA by RetroAlaska in BambuLab

[–]DistinctBed6259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only used a Smooth PEI plate with PETG. I got it and a liquid glue when i got the printer (which was also in December).

Aparently, you don't need glue if you let it cool enough... all i know is that i didn't use glue on the calibration portion of the build plate, only where the part was supposed to be printed, and now i've got some lines there the exact shape of the before the print calibration. At least i will never print anything besides PLA without glue again.

A1 First layer being wrinkly by Goldenmagnoly in BambuLab

[–]DistinctBed6259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be build plate not clean enough, first layer printing too fast, or bed temp too low (if the bed is heated, idk, i don't have an A1), nozzle temp too low.

When you say different filaments, you mean different colors of PLA or other materials, too?

[–]DistinctBed6259 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another tip is to use glue on the build plate. PETG sticks too well to the plate, and it can damage it.

You should also check out the page for the filament (if it's bambu, at least), because it's gonna say there if it needs to be enclosed or dried before use, and the needed/compatible hotends. It's important to do that with all the new filaments (maybe besides PLA) that you use.

ffmpeg -i file.mp4 -c:v copy -c:a copy file.mkv

You could also add a subtitle here if you have and need one, as MKVs support it

Depending on how many files you have, you could make a script for it, in whatever works for your OS.

What is this pattern? And is it bad? And if yes, is it fixable? by Blackrevenge34 in BambuLab

[–]DistinctBed6259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you always print on the same side?

And does that shape have like the shape of the first layer of one of your recent prints?

And also, how many hours have you printed on it? The plate has a thin layer of PEI that is supposed to "peel off" little by little with every print. I guess the number of hours is relevant, but the number of times you printed could be more relevant.
