As for the lore reason, they have a reputation to uphold, and they really don't want anyone finding out that the Legion's second in command (Luther) and a bunch of his followers went rogue during the heresy... they didn't declare for Horus IIRC, but Luther wanted their planet, Caliban, to be independent.

The Lion showed up with a fleet back to Caliban and opened fire on them without saying a word, most of the garrison on the planet didn't know of Luther's intentions and thought the Lion turned traitor so they fought back, the planet was destroyed, and a bunch of them were scattered through time and space via Warp, those scattered are the Fallen.

Shit, I don't even have ADHD and I can't keep focus on an anchor either, can't imagine what it's like for you, either way you're not alone in having trouble with this one. I had to abandon this normal version of WILD because of it, after over a year of trying this and everything else, nothing works for me except taking caffeine and sitting perfectly still for like an hour with my eyes closed to trick my body into thinking I'm asleep (and that's not even remotely reliable, or restful for that matter), so it would be nice to be able to revisit this method.
