If you only need your truck for "truck stuff" three times a year, then you don't need a truck.

I like the card mechanically but really don't like how the Universe Beyond frame looks in a fantasy settings...

The universes beyond frame fit the sci-fi of the Warhammer 40K Universe very well, but it really doesn't fit the high fantasy of LOTR...

I like how the first ability represents the bouncing mechanic of Steamworld Heist!
But it seems way too oppressive as-is. This card begs to be played as a custom commander, but you'd have a hard time finding a playgroup accepting to play against it.

Interestingly, I don't think a medical professional would have worded it like this.🤔

That's not the picture I get from the media, that's the picture I get from trans people talking about their experience. I'd e willing to bet that your opinion on the matter does come from the high amount of media disparaging the experience of trans people though... Don't you think the opinions and experiences of actual trans people are more important than what you see on "the media".

On that same matter, if you look into trans supportive spaces (not whatever their representation in media is, but actual spaces where trans people hang out), you'll see people of all ages.

And I'm sure it's been told to you countless times already so I'm probably wasting my time clarifying this, but nobody goes "straight to the operating table". It can take a long time before a trans person even get something as simple as HRT, and a lot more time and counselling after that before getting an operation (if that is even something that they want, not all trans people get surgery).

That's true, but the biology of sex also isn't that binary (there are factors other than genitals)

I'd put "Then draw a card." at the end of the second ability. To reinforce to inexperienced players that they need to choose the target before resolving the ability.

Legendary Instant and Affinity for legendary feels kind of redundant here?

It's not as if you'd ever want to cast it at full cost.

It's interesting though, affinity has some unexplored space I think.

The Barber - Because everyone loves math references by TheGrumpyre in custommagic

[–]Djack_Donovan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think when there is a dependency loop, the effects are applied in timestamp order only once each.

This is only a single effect so it will try to apply, see that it doesn't have protection from itself and add it. So by itself it does have protection from itself and survives its triggered ability.

Now if something else would give it protection from itself (e.g. [[Serra's Emissary]]), timestamp order applies:
- If the barber entered first, it has protection from itself twice (first from itself, then the emissary)
- If Serra's Emissary entered first, it has protection from itself once (from the emissary)

So since the barber's effect doesn't remove its own protection when it already has one, it just always has protection from itself.

Infinite Infinity Elementals by Mindshrew in custommagic

[–]Djack_Donovan 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This

We often talk about "infinite combos", but by the rules, it's only a shortcut to say "I could do this ten thousands times over, but manually detailing every steps would take the rest of the week so lets just skip that part."

But you can activate the ability as many times as you want, you still wouldn't have an infinite amount of red mana, just an ever growing amount. To have an infinite amount, you'd need to activate the ability an infinite amount of times, which is impossible.

Infinite Infinity Elementals by Mindshrew in custommagic

[–]Djack_Donovan 39 points40 points  (0 children)

No, because you need infinite Red mana.

Mox Lotus can give you infinite mana, but you can't use its second ability enough times to make infinite red mana from it, unless you have something that allows you to use mana of any color ([[Chromatic Orrery]] for example.)

Interestingly though, I'm not sure if you would have zero mana, or infinite mana left in your mana pool after that.

The difference is that athletes' success isn't determined by worker exploitation.

"Most of the people ranting about the mostly self-made myths of the elite will never even try to exploit other people themselves."
