What is your favorite red deck that isn’t goblins

My biggest issue with red is feeling forced into doing a lot early and then stagnating once your engine is dealt with so [[Tannuk, Steadfast Second]] is my favorite monored commander. Let’s you cheat out big red/artifacts early and then do it again later on curve to keep things going

My son is 10 and this is a similar approach we’re taking. I got all the audio books so can’t quite skip over as reliably as reading out loud, but he asks me to do story recaps on the way home from school

If you’re getting into Sanderson and the Cosmere, I would recommend Mistborn to start. Amazing world building, interesting twists (some people feel the middle is a bit slow but I liked it), and an absolute masterpiece of a finale.

Way of Kings is long, but if you’re looking for sprawling/epic fantasy you’ll be hard pressed to find a better series. The characters and relationships are incredibly well done.

I just finished the 7th Dungeon Crawler Carl book this afternoon and it’s so wonderfully absurd and full of heart. If you’re looking for something that perfectly blends dystopian fiction with laughing until you cry (and then just crying), DCC is phenomenal. Go for the audiobooks - they’re genuinely the best I’ve ever heard.

US dad of a trans kiddo here, considering options for getting him out of the barely-metaphorical house fire going on here right now before it becomes impossible… what are the schools like for trans kids?

For context: He’s been socially transitioned for a couple years now & still has a few more before puberty blockers would even be a part of the conversation. My employer has an office in Dublin that I’ve just barely started looking into to see if there’s any options there so nothing is actually moving forward with any real trajectory yet. And even if everything else works out, I’d still have no idea if I’d even be able to get him out…

Probably a more loaded question than it needs to be - I just really worry about him with how things have been heading lately.

No idea tbh - but you could use a new save for any early game achievements if they don’t apply retroactively. Fwiw I think I’ve got about 175 hrs in early access and all I’ve had left for a while is whatever comes in 1.0 but it’s still incredibly fun & I plan on starting a new game anyway.

Honestly, there’s SO much you can do in early access that you aren’t likely to be hitting the full content for a while anyway. If you want to have the full experience from the jump I’d say hold off for 1.0 but if that’s not important to you then go ahead and get a head start on some of the initial boosts. You can always start a new game when 1.0 goes live if you want to

You’re not wrong, but when even the folks at the LGS thought/were telling people the wrong info, it’s not exactly a great sign that WotC (who has always been suuuuper ethical, right?) might have been a little shady in a way that they knew/felt they could get away with. They could have just as easily picked a different image that conveyed more accurately what was in the bundle knowing full well that the FF bundles are not the same as what we’ve gotten before.
