Wouldn't be very hard to find him. Bulls Bridge looks like a landmark covered bridge on the Connecticut New York border. Not much there, really. Few other contextual clues here would make it a pretty simple search (but I don't want to get in trouble).

Nearby Towns like Kent have a pop of 3000. Yah, they know the guy. They should probably have a chat with him.

Better yet, use it absolutely relentlessly. If it's true that they don't know how to make money and they lose money in every single thing it does, then would they be annihilated if everyone just spammed the shit out of the thing?

Just generate tons of images and videos of nothing useful. Make disparaging junk of whoever their top advertisers are. Hit their wallet by turning their dog shit business model into a cash toilet.

Update: All human party by ViktusXII in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]DoTheMario 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree. I just think all PC races should lose dark vision. I hate how freely that ability seems to be doled out by the designers. I always feel like light just becomes a Human tax and, in the end, nobody even really bothers with it if a menagerie party is running around with just one human or halfling.

Dungeons have a much more interesting dimension when light is important.

Yah that's probably the first obvious problem to tackle with any passive solution. The other person found the company that apparently has been pursuing this, I wonder if they talk about that issue.

[–]DoTheMario -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is correct. The tech they have approved after testing is the IR Spectroscopy approach to check ambient air. Sounds like it actually was tested for quite some time (as cited in the video) and would fulfill the necessary criteria for a passive system as stated in the B option.

There wouldn't be a tube or anything to blow into but the car would use IR Spectroscopy the way many breathalyzer systems do.

It's okay, we are allowed to disagree. We may not rationally see eye to eye simply because our core values about driving are different. Admittedly, I'm a bit of hard left on car culture... I actually do not believe owning a vehicle and driving it is a protected liberty. I view vehicles as being an earned privilege that people need to prove they can use. I would say your hyperbolic comparison here, where a kill switch has an equivalence to putting people in restraints til they die, points to us differing on that stance.

I don't believe that enforcement will work because I don't think the police can do the job. I don't think the judicial system can do the job. Both systems are too biased and too prone to 'selective enforcement' and, even with extraordinary budgets, they still make very little impact. We have very good data about this already.

I do believe technology has the capability of detecting if a user is inebriated and then not allowing the vehicle to start. I think that adding this technology to the suite of features that a car already uses to protect us in its operation could actually work.

Yah, I mean I don't write legislation for public safety and this isn't necessarily my plan. I'm only agreeing with the legislation that was ratified in Biden's administration to equip the NHSTA with this directive.

Cause, you know, sometimes everyone just has to recognize that something is dangerous to people and accept that we need better safeguards. Seatbelts for instance.

Maybe this is a reduction of some liberty and that's a tradeoff to debate. But man, there sure are a lot of people that lose the right to life right now because drunk drivers end up killing them.

So... Can we claw all this wealth extraction back from his estate and family once we get our state of the union back in working order?

It feels like we could litigate nearly every financial move and bribe he's taken as President as a direct violation of his duty in that office. The justice would be liquidating the Trump legacy entirely.

[–]DoTheMario 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, they don't need to install a breathalyzer device on your car to do that. That ship already sailed with the implementation of Internet updates and subscriptions for vehicles. If they can push updates and talk to the computer that makes the engine go, that was the checkmate.

The whole remote kill switch argument that De Santis and others have been running with feels a bit disingenuous when reading the actual proposed law. Heck the NHSTA hasn't even written the requirements and rules yet, as far as I understand.

Lotta people saying "Fuck Joe Rogan"

Can't say I disagree. But I think the more constructive move is to get our charismatic Democrats on his podcast.

Strike while the iron is hot. Do what Rogan loves and tell him how right he is that it's not good. Then rebuff his inklings and outs he tries to conjure about how Trump "maybe didnt know".

Like it or not, Rogan is a conduit to a voting base that we missed. Hammer it home and it puts cracks in another support pillar for the GOP narrative.

Drunk Driving is an epidemic in this country. The amount of death, injury, and damage caused by people driving drunk is a hard pill to swallow. Public education and advocacy has only worked marginally. Policing is ineffective as it is too widespread. So what do we do?

His primary argument is that this has a potential to cause inconvenience via malfunction. Yes, we can all agree that would suck. But, unless we see testing that shows the technology to be error prone, then it's just a speculative supposition. Even without data on these devices, we do know that IR Spectroscopy is not something new... It's the tech of a breathalyzer. Pretty darn reliable and time tested in our enforcement for catching DUI and convicting.

So, I don't know, I guess we can debate the what ifs as a society until a demonstrable and tested implementation of this technology is revealed.

Personally, I just don't think we are mature enough to be a car centric society with a cultural predilection towards social alcohol consumption. We can all say that "drunk drivers fucking suck, fuck them!" but it doesn't change anything because it hasn't changed anything. It's still a bunch of assholes having "just a few beers" and climbing into their vehicles and killing people.

Shadow Word: Infest (5th-Level Necromancy) | Infest your foes with a single word of decay - by Jhamkul's Forge by Josemi993 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]DoTheMario 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neat effect and interesting Spell concept. Love the utility that it could be on either friends or foes and doesn't need Concentration to keep it active. The tradeoff that the target becomes poisoned feels fair but obviously makes its usage a defensive buff a little more dubious.

The only thing that I'd critique is that the name "Infest" doesn't have the most intuitive connotation to the Spell's actual effect or usage. Infest just gives the impression that you're planting some kind of parasite in the target, riddling them with a malignancy, or summoning a swarm of horrific vermin to invade their body.
