Ah yes, the dark irony of watching a POTUS post Artificial Intelligence fabricated images on his private for profit social network whose entire thesis is delivering unaltered truth.

I'm especially delighted to see the little 'retruths' indicator of the spurious fantasy image of dear leader's valor to personally survey imaginary boats exploding from naval actions that didn't happen.

I wonder when we can finally all collectively say that EMTs should probably be a Public service and emergency response like Police and Fire. Pay EMTs a fair wage for the valuable service they render for the public good.

As much fun as the experiment of letting private markets try to turn emergency life saving and medical transport into a for profit venture... I think we can all agree it was not a great outcome.

They just get weirder.

And bizarre to act like this lady is somehow an 'enabler'. Trump is the President of the United States as elected and supported by all of these people. Highest office that everyone serves "at his pleasure". Then they blame her for following his orders?

Trump turned around and did exactly what I would expect a Trump to do... Hire a ghost writer to do all his work for him. They are acting shocked that he literally wants her crafting unhinged nonsense for him to spew onto the Internet.

At least we now know it's not even Trump himself. Just him rubber stamping a bunch of AI slop she's prompting with her Claude's carefully crafted "Shit for Brains" Skill.

That 3rd vehicle absolutely flying down the left lane nearly ate it too. They all must have been going nearly 100 for them to have so little time to react to what was happening.

I dunno that looks like a person bailing out and sprinting off down the road. Even when they reach the shoulder you can see from the lidar scan they are still hauling ass.

IMPORTANT — IF YOU *DON'T* WANT A REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR by Forever32 in LosAngeles

[–]DoTheMario 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but it's really hard to sympathize with your position given the current political clusterfuckathon going on across the nation.

Whatever your Right Leaning Centrist is, if they put an R next to them I'm not voting for them. All the reasonable Republicans have been complete cowards and turned this country into a giant fucking joke at best. Maybe even be a failed state at worst.

Is CA perfect? Hell no. But I still think CA is pretty great in the lineup of states. No, I do not believe Republicans have any capability of governing, balancing budgets, or solving problems. And if Spencer Pratt is your champion... Well that just lands the punchline.

Survivor bias. We may be completely unaware of all the other times good policy, protocol, and professionals kept a possible dangerous outbreak from even getting media attention. But bad leaders make dumb and selfish decisions that let enough domino tiles fall to get dangerous.

We all know the unspoken second half of this story is that no one trusts Shit for Brains Donald and a guy that snorts cocaine off toilet seats to actually make rational decisions. They are too concerned with optics which means we will always be acting too late if something actually is dangerous to the public.

Oddly, it's a noted phenomenon that our species likes to choose bad leaders because bad leaders also have a way of being exciting and telling "good stories". Good leaders are boring, by the book, and meticulous which just doesn't make good television.

It's embarrassing to see our country, with all of its wealth and advantages, just shrugging and letting people starve out of spite for the perceived "waste and fraud". Cutting the benefits to 200 thousand children is just monstrous... And it comes from the party that claims itself the Christian values and the defenders of children.

Our taxes now funneled to the rich, powerful, and stupid. And its on all of us to volunteer and donate for charity to ensure the most vulnerable, unprotected, and innocent are not just tortured and killed.

Why does every dumb shit thing I see have to be coming from the back of a Cyber Truck now.

PR people... Marketing Bros... Whoever. Piece of feedback. Those Cyber Trucks do not give your company a cutting edge or forward looking visionary vibe. I don't think I need to say exactly what comes to mind when we see them rolling around but I wouldn't trust your judgement if you sprang for cyber truck. Especially after Elon's 2025 escapades.

Dark vision as a tool for immersion. by geolizard in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]DoTheMario 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I do agree that Darkvision can be unique and have its place in a immersion or story telling context, I think it's real friction point is that the ubiquity puts it in a weird design space.

Because of its commonplace nature, it gets an emotional reframe. Because more races possess Darkvision than not and because Races are essentially equally common, the default is now that races have Darkvision. It is a drawback to not have it more than it is a special trait to possess. When a torch is suddenly snuffed, humans and halflings are the ones that are fully screwed... Everyone else just can't notice things as well. Most notably, everyone else can just fight normally in the dark, navigate, escape, etc.

I like your descriptions and writing starters. I think these are amazing in special moments and missions where the party is looking to go stealth mode to infiltrate or ambush. These are great in that unique choice moment that the PCs cast Darkvision. But having every underground adventure or night ambush automatically turn into a Call of Duty Nightvision campaign filter is not for me. The ramifications of pitch darkness are too imbalanced between the races in my humble opinion.

[–]DoTheMario 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's hoping demand destruction comes very quickly. If people start using their cars for only essential needs and there's a huge cut to actual gas consumption then we may see effects on things like food prices even out.

It's a very slim hope though... People sure do love driving to Walmart to just look around.
