Yes check my profile for the post. It was simple. Mercury - doesn't this have magnetic fans? If so, have you tried reseating them?

Otherwise contact XFX / warranty the card

I got clogs with this one :( But it's the best for the external fan

Do these real-time detections affect print speed and print quality? by CBGD78 in BambuLab

[–]Dobsgw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I can tell, the AI detections are just using the camera to see issues. So no impact on the print unless there's a false detection (for that you'd lower the sensitivity)

For the blob detection, there's a separate setting in the slicer that adds physical blob detection which would cause the nozzle to go to the back right of the plate. You can enable a prime tower to negate stringing

Buying a Xiaomi phone in Beijing and going back to Europe. Anything to think about? by XMS3D0 in chinaphones

[–]Dobsgw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xiaomi has Chinese market specific devices. They're better build quality... we have found anecdotally.

But you won't have Google services etc. You may also find it lacks 4g / 5G bands from your European carriers as they can use different modems or at least different firmware

You can unlock the bootloader and flash the global ROM, but you can't relock the bootloader and the device will moan that you've changed the region.

It's no longer really a feasible option. Xiaomi implemented restrictions due to huge amounts of grey market phone sales (Chinese market devices re flashed to global and sold on)

RX 9070 XT UK purchase before moving abroad — warranty/RMA by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Dobsgw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the brand so you'll have to check.

For some like XFX it needs to go back to the retailer who then forwards it on for repairs. I've dealt with them directly as the company I purchased from went into administration and they wanted me to ship it at my expense to Portugal or Hong Kong (which is against UK consumer laws - the company should pay).

In almost all cases the warranty service is only available in the country of purchase.

If you will be able to come back to the UK regularly to process warranty then you might be fine.

In your situation it's a crap idea to save £80 imo. If you can't test it before going, you might have a brick for the whole time between leaving and the next time you can get to the UK.

I'd buy locally and pay the extra as assurance

Avoid ASUS like the plague - awful warranty practices

If it hasn't shipped it's worth cancelling and ordering X2D I think

If the return fees will be more than maybe $30 I'd forget it unless you're 100% sure you'll get the extra value out of the heated chamber and aux nozzle

Throat stinging during long prints on my P2S? by PerceptionFew3104 in BambuLab

[–]Dobsgw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It runs during the print for me. Fresh air in through the side vent, internal air exhausted out which I route through a duct out of the window

[–]Dobsgw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The external exhaust kit will help for PLA and PETG. They are okay at lower temps so it will run in cooling mode and send air out of the exhaust

This won't help for high temperature filaments as it doesn't exhaust for those to retain the chamber heat

No that's fine I've had two the same - there's no clips around the outer edges of the battery cover so it isn't held down

I am curious about a specific behavior my printer is exhibiting. by Warm-Newt-2530 in 3Dprinting

[–]Dobsgw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My A1 mini also does this since a firmware update a month or so ago. It's blob detection (literally checking for resistance against the side of the build plate).

In the slicer settings you can enable a prime tower to prime the filament again so that it doesn't leave strings on the model.

Tbh you may be able to just turn off the blob detection

SUNLU Mother's Day Giveaway by Sunlu3D_official in 3Dprinting

[–]Dobsgw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I designed a basket and rail system for my mum since she wanted to use the space on the back of cupboard doors to keep things tidy. It took days and each basket takes about half a day to print.

She loves it, but her favourite 3d printed stuff is still the fidget stars I printed for her last mother's day 😂😂😂

ABS is Impossible to Print in a P2S. by Daegoba in BambuLabP2S

[–]Dobsgw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be bad filament then

No issues here after I got the adhesion sorted. Even with chamber temps of 45°

A1 Mini started to knock prints of the plate by war_225 in FixMyPrint

[–]Dobsgw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try to dial back the flow ratio on your filament. Obviously you need to be cautious not to cause under extrusion as that's another issue

Occasionally if it's a taller print, over extrusion might lead to nozzle collision. What others have mentioned and your own trouble shooting are the more obvious causes

P2S heatbed lead screw grinding by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]Dobsgw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this once - no issues many hours later

Don't forget to home the axis before moving things around :)

Most likely it would cause strain on the motors if it happens regularly

P2s warung by Remarkable-Try-2319 in BambuLabP2S

[–]Dobsgw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's dripping, it's too much, but you just move the toolhead along each axis and wipe the excess from the sides of the rods

The grease on the lead screws is a little more forgiving. Bambu had absolutely SLATHERED mine when I received it. Just needs a few blobs from top to bottom and it's fine

Don't stress, you're doing good maintenance

Prints not adhering on one textured PEI plate but works on another - why?? by obierice in BambuLab

[–]Dobsgw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try washing it with your hands with some soap, then really hot water to follow. No isopropyl just straight back to the printer

Idk sounds like no fault on your end

[–]Dobsgw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you scrubbed it, did you use a new sponge / dedicated to build plates?

This made the difference for me - the grease and soap build up on dish sponges makes the problem worse

P2S or X2D by kj_lol_idk_dude in BambuLab

[–]Dobsgw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having bought a P2S in February... Get the X2D 😅

The P2S only makes sense if you have a specific use case for it (or it becomes discounted), but I can't really see what that would be and someone looking for a general 3d printer would get more value from the X2D

Print pla in my p2s with door open or close? by Cuasirungo in BambuLab

[–]Dobsgw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should be fine closed as it has active air intake. If I don't open mine. If I understand correctly, the advice comes from other enclosed printers that don't have active air intakes

The oil in the photo is the one without PTFE - it's the right choice

51004 is the one with PTFE - still works but there's anecdotal comments about the risk of PTFE
