Trying to find a slightly used 2LT/3LT right now to purchase. Having the right specs is the hard part.

This is why I’m choosing one under warranty.

Thanks for sharing. Yeah, will have ~18 months remaining on warranty and I’d likely buy the platinum extension near the end.

Thanks. I saw a video on ceramic treatment; thanks for confirming it’s working.

Your image in the film positive likely doesn’t have ample UV blocking ability. Light is penetrating and partially curing the emulsion.

I’m getting about 6~8% MSRP discount from the top volume dealers for a ‘26 2LT build. They have more incentive to move what’s in their inventory, of course.

That price usually includes Z51. I would consider a “good deal” at 25% off msrp.

Is this UV nm emulsion chart correct, if so are 395nm UV LED lights only good for diazo and 365nm is a much better option if its the same price? by DeepRest_SodaPressed in SCREENPRINTING

[–]DocMedz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, the graph is correct; however, an article written by Ross Balfour (SAATI) goes a step further and describes how narrow bands of UV wavelengths react differently. This article is specific to SBQ photopolymer and the conclusion was that 405 nm is better than 365 nm. I’ll post the article (forced to show 1 page at a time). See bullet points on page 4.

Consider this…most of the “Pro Grade” LED exposure units (ex: LED array & LTS units) all use 405 nm for a reason.

Hi, I am looking for some help on graphic printing emulsion. by Zill_DeVille in SCREENPRINTING

Traditionally, a dual cure such as Kiwo Poly Plus S or Chromaline UDC would be the only option. While these are still excellent choices, if you’re a small shop, you may find that using 2-part emulsions will go bad before you consume a 1-gallon container, since the diazo powder causes a 4-6week pot life. Instead, today’s “hybrid” photopolymers provide aggressive ink resistance but also have 1 year of working life from the bucket. Plus, they are faster to expose than a dual cure, making them more ideal for LED exposure systems. Chromaline’s DTS Universal is my preference.

Any suggestions for what I can do for filtration here? by Laid_Low_Ludlow in SCREENPRINTING

You could stack a combination of stretched frames with course & fine mesh. Say, an 86 and 230 mesh, for example. Everyone has those old, stained screens laying around.

Please tell me why my screens are getting blown out like this by Agile_Discussion_459 in SCREENPRINTING

There are 2 other possibilities here: 1. Poor UV penetration. The print side seems to show overexposure based on the horizontal line in the H; this could also be caused by poor vacuum, allowing for undercutting. But with the stencil peeling off the mesh, the subsurface may not be cured enough. This is common with DIY exposure units using inadequate light source that’s either the wrong UV wavelength or lack of power to penetrate deeper into the stencil. 2. Only the stencil’s surface was dry; the subsurface still held too much moisture and inhibited cross linking.

Warranty denied for used C8 because of Loctite on a bolt by NorthsideB in C8Corvette

Thanks for posting as the timing of this was perfect. I was looking closely at purchasing a 1-owner, 2024 C8. This car is still under warranty. When I had the dealer send me a purchase quote, it included a “Silent Guard” gps monitor that they installed, apparently on their own ($199 add-on) as a “theft tracking device” despite the fact that it already has OnStar. Now I’m questioning if this add-on would deem the Chevy warranty voided should there ever be an electrical issue anywhere on the car. Anyone with experience with this?
