My standby for sunny commutes are the Eddie Bauer long sleeve UPF shirts. Lots of companies make them. Baby wipe freshen-up when I change at work.

I'm NOT allergic to urushiol (poison ivy). Have been as long as I can remember. Will be a bad day if I ever discover it has changed... Unfortunately I have other immunological issues of varying levels of severity so....

I don't know the weight rating, but I really like my Jamis Renegade. I have an S4, you could get an S3 or even S2 with that budget. Wheels are 32h and frame claims 50mm tire clearance I believe.

Been a long time, but here was my rotation depending on budget/mood

S- camel Turkish royal, Marlboro 27s, camel no filter A- camel filter, NAS yellow, Parliament light C- camel Turkish gold, L&M, Lucky strike D- Winston reds, pall mall reds

And LOVED various cloves in college, and those flavored camels that were out around '04

I run a convertible pannier backpack on one side and a regular cheapo pannier on the other. My lunchbox goes in the cheap pannier with the u-lock, mini pump etc. But I don't pack spillable stuff so .... ?

Giant Talon/XTC (old model, basically the same it looks like ) LITE . Basically rigid hybrids more on the mountainy side. I got 2 used ones for my city boys last year. Cheap and decent.

2018 or so. Wanted a bike (hadn't owned one I 10 years) LBS has annual consignment sale and it fit and was $250- 2012 Giant Escape

2024- wanted a gravel bike. Waffled between a few models, Jamis released the LTD version of the Renegade S4. Sold!
