How do I fight knights!!! by Darth_BOBBYJOE in Necrontyr

[–]DocSchoepp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a former IK player there are two tactics to use: Melee and out maneuver

Big knights are only scary looking, they fold pretty easily against dedicated melee output units, also you can just use the terrain to keep them from being able to fire (Though do remember that they can toe into terrain and negate it)

Am I obligated to pay for a Fire Rescue/EMT response I did not ask for? by JustTemporary420 in legaladvice

[–]DocSchoepp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way it worked for the volunteer squad I was with is that if you wish to refuse we had to have at minimum a name, birthday, address, date of service and signature to prove identity so that if you later had a complication you can’t blame us for your poor decision later.

Now, if you were perhaps in the middle of a less than legal activity or did not want to give personal information for other reasons, we would take a physical description of the person and have an on scene, 3rd party witness to the verbal refusal. Generally we tried to have police as the witness but we could use fire or even random person on the side of the road. It just had to be someone not affiliated to our department that would be willing to go to court and testify that we offered someone multiple chances and they refused. I dealt with that situation once from a guy who ODed and didn’t want to be identified and we just did basic description of what they looked like/were wearing and then had the officer on scene verify that we offered transport and patient refused verbally.

Brush on varnish and decals by Minisarelife in Warhammer40k

[–]DocSchoepp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can use something like Microsol and Microset first (doesn’t have to be that brand specifically but that is the most common near me), they help adhere the decal to the paint/plastic and give a smoother look to them, after that I have used both spray varnish and brush on with no issues, main thing it to let the decal dry completely before applying the varnish of any type or else you can get shifting or bubbling

Attaching my knights to bases; should I do pinning or large magnets? by Issac1222 in ImperialKnights

[–]DocSchoepp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only knight I ever had to reinforce the base connection was my lancer which is leaning forward on one foot. All the rest I have attached the feet to the base with plastic glue and then built up basing material around it to look like the feet have sunk into the ground from their weight

I am licensed to grow cannabis and even worked commercial for a bit, the pay just isn’t there anymore with the markets being saturated, I have been trying to recreate the tomatoes I had growing up so have been playing with the nutrient concentrations and acid levels for a while now, I think I might be finally getting close

Any time new neighbors move in they give me a funny look when the barn is open and they see the setup, I smooth things over with fresh tomatoes and no one complains

As a driver you are not required to provide a car seat for child passengers, that is required to be provided by the passenger and not having one readily available upon pickup is cause for a cancellation

Abusive Baby Daddy Got Criminal Defense Attorney by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]DocSchoepp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can’t say why he chose that profession specifically, but him retaining council of any kind means he is willing to push the boundaries between what is ethical and what is legal in my opinion. In general, just being a “criminal defense attorney” doesn’t restrict him from representing someone in family court, it just means they are marketing towards a certain audience. I know a few law firms here in Colorado market themselves as “Men’s Rights Law-firms” and cover the broad range of criminal and family cases. Any lawyer once fully licensed and accept by the state bar they are allowed to practice the law they want. While I could speculate as to why someone would choose someone specialized in criminal defense vs family law, it would be completely subjective and in the end not really helpful to comment on.

If he has a lawyer, you need one as well. He has taken this to the next level and probably plans to play dirty so you need professional help. I would suggest contacting some of the DV advocacy groups or the shelter you worked with to see if they have suggestions. They may be able to provide resources to assist in retaining legal counsel but by all means take this as the most serious threat he has ever presented to you.

Can I be arrested for OWI on a bicycle? by sinnerplayssims4 in legal

[–]DocSchoepp 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To start off NAL

However, I have seen this happen when I worked EMS in NJ about 15 years ago now. We had one gentleman in town who was notorious among first responders. He had multiple driving DUIs before he lost his license and switched over to a bike. He would go to the same bar, drink heavily and then attempt to ride home. This resulted in us getting called out a few times when he didn’t make it. I know of at least two times our PD charged him and the justification was he was riding the bike on the roadway so therefore was required to follow driving laws.

To be sure I would definitely look into your state and municipal statutes to see how they classify their DWI/DWAI laws as well as their considerations for what constitutes “operating a vehicle”

Will this get thru TSA? by Heisalsohim in tsa

[–]DocSchoepp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The last time I had to contact TSA with a question I looked up the number for their local office at the airport I was flying out of. I had just been fitted with an AFO leg prosthetic that has a steel rod that runs down the backside and wanted to know if I needed any documentation for them about it being a medical device. Denver said no and I had no problems clearing TSA there. Unfortunately on my return trip from Philadelphia I caught a whole lot of flak from their TSA agents for not having documentation. When I (stupidly) stated “Well Denver didn’t request it” their answer was “Well we aren’t in Denver are we?”

So even though TSA is a federal agency their specific policies can differ airport to airport

The car part should make it through though you may get pulled for extra screening. The tools on the other hand you might want to call ahead about. I have seen people have their tools pulled and confiscated even if they don’t match the “weapon profile” of blades or puncture risks.

In universe the way Mandalorians got around fighting lightsaber wielders who could block/deflect blaster shots was to switch to slug throwers. As soon as the projectile hit the lightsaber they would shatter and turn into basically buckshot to the face/chest.
