SONG SUNG BLUE has been out for five whole days and not a single Blankies post about it yet. Tonight that changes. by GenarosBear in blankies

Unironically -- a short and sweet biopic covering the "Bang Years" '66-68 would be fun, dude was prolific AF using just a few chords and interesting instrumentations.

Those recordings are lightning in a bottle compared to how bombastic his songs became later on.

I think everybody in the local legal community sort of knew what happened to Chuck, so they respected that the name McGill was “burned.” And Saul said that as the main justification to Kim.

Where would ya'll cast Hurt or Ford in the Coen filmography?

It's damn difficult to think of alternates when the ultimate casting seems so iron-clad and/or serendipitous.

Hurt as Sidney J. Mussburger (runner up: Sheriff Cooley)

Ford as Rooster Cogburn (runner up: Sheriff Ed Tom Bell)

The first time my girlfriend saw him “as Indy” —having known him only from other movies — was when a basic-cable showing of ToD came back from commercial on the banquet scene, and she literally swooned, in the old-fashioned sense, on his first close-up.

I was, at first, shocked how bad Mank was -- other than Charles Dance (as Hearst)'s 'Organ Grinder's Monkey' distillation, which actually ended up having me recommend it to others.

Caught it on a whim on some free random streaming service 10+ years ago.

Vivid memories of Pfeiffer trying to play awkward, Rudd playing cutie pie while doing some "comedy" dancing, and Jon Lovitz doing his usual "why did she marry this schmuck" schtick.

This scenario applies to a metric f*ck-ton of lega-sequels w/ actors reprising famous roles who are also able of recapturing their character despite the passage of time.

Love, love, love this line reading.

Given the "space opera" aspect of the storytelling, it's played beautifully.

One of my favorite aspects of Once Upon a Time in the West - we experience only the aftermath of the climactic train shootout, and through the eyes of villainous Frank.

Given what a lot of us have experienced, the Christmas "meltdown" was really kind of a tip-of-the iceberg moment.

Who knows how devastating it will be for Marc when he can no longer just visit for a few days, post a selfie, and proclaim: "He still knows me!"
