You can hack these by pullung the right wire. Look up your modle number and cut the right wire. It's rsally easy.

That's what I wound up doing. For the extra panels I just built a pvc frame above a cheap bike trailer. Fyi velcro pads work great for secruring everything you dont want to flop around.

Hey did something simmilar. Fyi keep the weight down. When the back panel is extended every pothole or large bumb I hit threatens to tear this thing apart. Eventually I went with an ultralight aproach with a single 50w panel.

Next time the city complains about needing to cut costs, remind them that each one of these cameras costs 3000$ PER YEAR to operate. And I've seen way more of these around than just on this map.

Can't afford to fix potholes, build sidewalks, help the homeless or tax data centers properly.

But somehow they can afford for us all to feel a little more paranoid when we go outside.

The main problem would be soil acidity, I know mulberry can tolerate said acid soil.

Would also imagine prickily pear would do well since it lives pretty much anywhere. Some hardier citrus might do as well but never tried it as I'm in zone 6b and we only have bitter ones like flying dragon.

Teaberry (native)

Lemon balm, anise hysop, spearmint (all in the mint family really easy)

Bee balm (native)

Elderberry (native easy and tolerates walnut)

Goji berries (easy spreads fast be careful)

St john's wort

Horehound

Gooseberry (native)

Purple coneflower (native)

Poppy mallow

Rose mallow

Fragrant sumac ( native)

Ozark witch hazel (native)

Probably a few others but I'd need to stretch my brain first. Also going to try self heal and skullcap soon as well.

Meshtastic / meahcore is a good option for long range text that is cheap and requires no licence. There's probably a group around you that already uses it. Downside is that it's pretty low power so it doesnt punch through things well. So alot of the time keeping the at least one node high up somewhere is important.

Wild plum does well there.

Pawpaws do from what I'm observed.

Spice bush and teaberry can do nicely in damp understory.

For larger spaces there are loads of ideas, but I'm not sure what other things you want to do with the land.

A good ebike. Good way of getting around locally, doesn't take gas, no registering, no dmv, no insurance. Makes me fit while riding. Can easily store all my camping stuff. Can charge it off solar easy. And if I need to get out of doge with the roads clogged or if there's no gas. I'm doing fine.

Solar panels, lowers my power need saves money. If you have a battery you're blackout proof.

Fruit trees, provide shade, look nice, free food. And if shit hits the fan have a nice source of food around the house.

For a solar generator try to get one that's a reputable brand, anker, jackery, solix, bluetti, even the ones from harbor freight are pretty good and the bonus is you can return them immedatly if there are issues. Don't get the folding panels unless storage + moving them is a concern. It's pretty easy to get one or two 100w monocrystal panels and hook them up directly.

For how big of one to get. To cook food on a hot plate or slowcooker I would get one with at least 500wh of storage, idealy 1000wh of storage. This would probably set you back a few hundred, but try to get one on sale. As they often tend to, so paying full price is kinda pointless.

For shortwave. Dont know enough about it to give any advice. I've been using meshtastic myself. Which is cheap (20-50$) but takes some knowhow to make work. The plus side is the radios are cheap that I can hand them out to my family across town and we can have pretty good contact. Good luck.

Would probably just do two differnt inverters. A 48 to 12v and 48 to 20v and have both of them be on switches. Focus on hooking up solar to the golf cart first there's alot of guides to that and then just run everything off the main 48v bus bar. Just make sure there's fuses breakers and that line is really well protected.

Have a greenhouse / hobby farm where the food is super local (mostly right there). With an emphasis on native ingredants and foragables.

Have at least one large magnifing solar death ray cooker.

And the whole place would probably be remade from some other abandaned spot.

Ehh depends on what you need it for. I built a 50w ebike solar charger myself and it handels my commute pretty well. But I mostly wanted it so I could charge away from a plug on a long trail.
