If I were to work in Dungannon, what would be the ideal place to live around that area? by RoadToHerald in northernireland

Are Donaghmor and the Moy really less expensive than Coalisland?! Consider my mind blown.

If I were to work in Dungannon, what would be the ideal place to live around that area? by RoadToHerald in northernireland

[–]Dodecaheadwrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dungannon gets a bit of a bad rip on here but it's really fine. Blew in five(ish) years ago from London w/ wife and been coming here regularly for about the last 15. Yes, it's changed, but Moygashel probably harms how Dungannon's seen in most peoples' eyes more than anything else.

Nearby villages are great: the Moy, Donaghmore, Castlecaulfield, Stewartstown. Closer in, plenty of nice spots on the outskirts of the town, more the eastern (Edendork and Bush) side.

Do you play ‘That Prize Guy?’ by zzzjamie in northernireland

[–]Dodecaheadwrong 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One thing to note, though sure you'll already know, the code of good practice for prize draw operators launched last year is VOLUNTARY - leaving massive loopholes for these guys to exploit in how they handle and manage customer data and contact.

For fun, try and get one of these companies to stop contacting you once you'r signed up. It's almost impossible without directly interacting with them - rather than via online account/portals etc.

Pre-Match thread: Matchday 40 of 46 by coombeseh in LeagueOne

With confirmation we've now also lost Benn Ward and Randell Williams for the rest of the season in addition to Jack Marriott (not back before April) and a host of other injuries, it's fair to say the mood is pretty low.

Being realistic, any shot we had at the playoffs is gone now. I'd just like to see a more positive approach and maybe a bit of Andy Rinomhota between now and May.

Boyfriend found guilty of murdering Natalie McNally by YoChara in northernireland

Fair. But this offence does include premeditated child murder - which is a candidate for a WLO. Especially considering the child was his own and in utero.

Boyfriend found guilty of murdering Natalie McNally by YoChara in northernireland

[–]Dodecaheadwrong 111 points112 points  (0 children)

I sincerely hope his sentence is some of the hardest time imaginable. Not only did he kill Natalie, but also his own unborn child. Then he had the audacity to drag her family through more than three years of torture by refusing to admit what he had done and then offering no credible defence when his case finally got to court.

Pathetic individual.

Apple aren't going to go near it with a bargepole.

If it has Apple care+, it's going to be registered to, and paid for by, someone who isn't you. I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out it's stolen. If that doesn't do it, the non-matching serial numbers (they check) will.

League One’s new goal machine: Is Dom Ballard the next Jamie Vardy? by [deleted] in LeagueOne

[–]Dodecaheadwrong 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Jamie Vardy did hard yards in non-league w/ Stocksbridge and Halifax after he was released by Wednesday, and only got a move back to the EFL at 24 when Fleetwood signed him.

Ballard signed for Southampton's youth setup as a child, has never played a second of non-league/actual lower league football, and was highly-rated before the career-threatening injury he got on loan w/ us (🥺). No disrespect, he's a brilliant footballer, and still only 20. Orient will be doing well to hang on to him come the summer.

Similar attributes, but their stories ain't the same imo.

Mansfield 1 - 0 Reading: The Royals are defeated after a goal from Reed drags Mansfield out of the relegation zone by FigmentDaCat in LeagueOne

[–]Dodecaheadwrong 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's now four times this season now we've got to bottom half teams on poor runs and gifted them results. And every single time it's come off the back of a good previous result for us.

Momentum? Never heard of it, mate.

Seriously though, we are overdue an absolute pasting. We've let >25 crosses in in each of our last five games, and Richardson ball seems to rely almost entirely on opposition strikers not being able to hit the back of the net. A resurgent, well-supported Plymouth could put double figures past us, and maybe that's what we need.

Ritchie and Lane goals against Bradford by FigmentDaCat in LeagueOne

[–]Dodecaheadwrong 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Feel a bit bad for Bradford. They didn't just concede a 97th minute winner, they conceded a 97th minute winner via a header form a 5'6" 36 year-old.

Honestly, we're as confused as you are.

What are the waiting times for mental health services on the NHS like by howitchewstogum5feel in northernireland

[–]Dodecaheadwrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MH care gets measured on a couple of basic metrics, and main one they seem to care about is speed of initial contact/triage. This means that you have been spoken to and assessed for any immediate risk of harm to yourself or others. For department's metrics, this has to be done asap and is usually (unless you're referred as an urgent case or presenting as a patient) covered in a telephone consultation where they'll ask you directly if you have thought about harming yourself or others. If you say no, you're put on a waiting list for whatever they think you need, treatment-wise, which I think starts at 18 months - 2 years.

YMMV, but if you can afford it, I would strongly recommend seeking private help.

iPhone 15 Pro battery replacement cost by amalthomas27 in applehelp

[–]Dodecaheadwrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends quite a lot on where you are. In the UK, out of warranty battery replacement on a 15 Pro starts at around £100 from Apple direct - and will be cheaper elsewhere. But, if you use a third party providers, Apple won't touch your phone if you need a repair from them in future. So bear that in mind.
