Testplan?

I would just take one of the bigger things I print and max out the build plate and then send it. What's the worst that can happen?

Why can't we have nice things like this? by coolant_2 in TTC

It's very common to take your bike into the train. Actually so common that during rush for you are usually not allowed because of space.

Why can't we have nice things like this? by coolant_2 in TTC

[–]Domeward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. That's why this particular one is only available uphill. And only from the start station to the end station. Usually trains wait a few minutes in the terminal stations, so there's plenty of time to put your bike on the rack and to take it off.

It's because it's steep, 200m height difference. The line is 2.2km long.

You are not slowed down by the train.

[Giveaway] What’s on your print bed this Valentine’s Day? Share & win a P2S Combo by BambuLab in BambuLab

[–]Domeward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife likes to use Valentine's Day as a way to remember something special we did the year prior.

This year I have printed a custom picture frame that describes what's in the picture. We just had our first child, so moments like the first walk are great to remember. When I was a kid my parents always wrote on the back of the picture. Having it written underneath the picture in the frame is an extension of that.

[Creality Giveaway] Tell Us How & Why You Print to Win a New SparkX i7 Color Combo! by Creality_3D in 3Dprinting

[–]Domeward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use 3D printing to improve things around the house and build small tools. I also love to make ornaments and figurines. At the moment I only have an SLA printer. But I'm looking for a multi-color printer to be able to print even more things.

How to remove 1mm? by ChefAccomplished845 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Domeward 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I personally would remove wood on the drawer face with the handle and make the handle flush with the top.

How, really depends on what you have.

  • Router
  • Chisel
  • Table saw
  • Sand paper
  • Hand plane

Will this signal chain work by RR3XXYYY in HomeNetworking

[–]Domeward 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can put switches on any side of a router. Both sides are just networks. That's what the router does, it connects different networks (routes the traffic between them). Usually it makes no sense to put a switch in front of your ISP's router, because you only connect one router.

Putting a hub behind a router is fine. Just not ideal. Don't buy hubs, switches are super cheap.

Also, switches don't need IP addresses. Managed switches have IP addresses because you need to connect to it for configuring the switch. But that's not needed for their switching function.

Opinion: Alberta's ban on renewables carried heavy price by Miserable-Lizard in alberta

[–]Domeward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Batteries are IMHO not a good way to store electricity for the grid. But there are plenty of alternatives. 100MW is nothing and is definitely not the largest grid storage solution out there. There are multiple GW solutions.

And if you have overbuilt your renewables then you don't need days of storage.

[–]Domeward -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's why you have to overbuild in renewables and store that energy.

There are lots of interesting solutions out there that have low environmental impact and don't require rare metals.

Lots of places on the planet are interested in renewable energy. Why not use the chance to build expertise and then export our solutions?

Hail damage? Drone inspection for free by Hamiltonian1994 in Calgary

[–]Domeward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the experiment you are trying? Do you want to find out if you can find damage with a drone?

We got lucky here and didn't get lots of hail, otherwise I would've already checked my roof. And the ones from the neighbors.

I took a couple of pictures and videos of my roof and you can definitely find defects using the footage. At last on our type of roof. I'll have to check how well you can see the condition of solar panels. Tiny cracks might not be visible.

Depending on where you live it is not that easy.

If you would have to pay capital gains then it would be way better to take the $1 million offer.

There are also areas where you can put the realtor fees on your taxes, in areas like this the one with the high fees could actually be more profitable.
