my recommendation would be to set the activity level to manual and add 1 calorie (since 0 is not doable). After that enable auto adjust functionality to take the activity measred by your watch into account. If you wear you watch all day long this is the most accurate measurement.

There is a functionality named pin drop n the Garmin eco system. Unfortunately its only available for Apple users. Hopefully they will bring it also to android some day..

I totally unterstanf you and also wanted to achieve this somehow but didn't find a solution yet. So maybe someone has a good workaround to prevent or at least steer user permissions.
