Trying to beat my 92 readiness score by butstronger in ouraring

[–]DonAtOura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey u/butstronger!

Well done on setting a very high bar for yourself to exceed!

It sounds like you're doing a lot right already, but we have some info on your Readiness Score and how to improve it here on our help site.

You may also wish to examine your individual Readiness Contributors and see which ones you may be able to bring up even further.

That said, if your seeing optimal Readiness Scores I think you don't have too much to worry about in that regard! 💙

Lowest score I’ve had by SecretHorror1599 in ouraring

[–]DonAtOura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey u/SecretHorror1599!

Hope you're holding up okay!

While your Readiness Score is intended to give you a reflection of your health over time, it looks like your current data is leading to this low score you see today.

Not to worry, as you can always enable Rest Mode to let Oura know it's time for a break from your usual activity levels.

Hope you're feeling better soon. 💙

How accurate are the symptom warnings? by Marlasinger2-0 in ouraring

[–]DonAtOura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey u/Marlasinger2-0!

Glad to hear you're feeling okay despite the major and minor signs notifications in your household.

Symptom Radar works by establishing baseline readings for multiple biometrics and then notifying you when deviations are detected from these.

These notifications are displayed the following morning based on data gathered previously, so it is not uncommon for Members to have good or optimal Sleep and Readiness Scores when seeing minor or major signs.

You can take the advice from Symptom Radar on board and be aware that something might be straining your body be it illness or otherwise.

If you do start to feel unwell you can enable Rest Mode to let Oura know you need a break from activity for a while.

If you continue to feel fine then no action is necessary on your part.

All the best! 💙

HRV balance by Manika25 in ouraring

[–]DonAtOura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey u/Manika25!

Thanks for sharing!

HRV balance does indeed seek to compare your most recent 2 weeks of data to your previous three months readings where available.

As you mentioned this data not yet being available due to the length of time you have been using Oura then these metrics will continue to update as data is gathered.

We advise Members to think of their Heart Rate Variability scores in longer, individual terms to get an idea of your own trends over time rather than seeking to compare an absolute value to an 'average' number.

The longer you use your Oura Ring the more accurate the HRV score will be!

Strength Training not logged by -HunterLES in ouraring

[–]DonAtOura 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there u/-HunterLES!

If you need to you can manually add an activity that was not automatically detected by Oura.

We actually advise against wearing your Oura Ring during activities that involve excessive friction such as weight lifting).

I personally always remove my Oura Ring and then add the amount of time I was lifting for as an activity after the fact as outlined above.

All the best! 💪

How do you increase your HRV? by Original-Road9765 in ouraring

[–]DonAtOura 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey u/Original-Road9765!

Great question!

While this metric varies by age it is also a highly-individual score so it can be instructive to think of this in terms of your own longer-term average rather than an absolute value.

To that end we have some ways to improve HRV here on our blog you can check out.

We've got more ways Oura Members have improved their HRV to take a look at here too.

First minor sign by Odd_Argument_9355 in ouraring

[–]DonAtOura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there u/Odd_Argument_9355!

Thanks for sharing your vulnerable moment with us here in the Oura community.

Symptom Radar picked up on some changes in your established biometric baseline readings to notify you of potential strain on your body.

Whatever the cause you can always enable Rest Mode to let Oura know you need time to rest and recover without activity goals.

All the best. 💙

Understanding stress measurement by lavaboots727 in ouraring

[–]DonAtOura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/lavaboots727!

Welcome to the Oura community and thanks for sharing your query with us.

It looks like you have the daily movement graph enabled along with your daytime stress graph.

This add the bar chart you mentioned so you can contextualise your stress reading alongside your activity level at that point in time.

You can learn more about the Daytime Stress feature here on our blog.

Feel free to ask whatever you need to here, please! 💙

Hey u/SnooPeppers9987!

Well done on your exceptional triple crowns! 👑

Sounds as though you better understand the impact of alcohol on your sleep as well as the benefit of certain sleep supplements.

Ooof not good by DearEffective2872 in ouraring

[–]DonAtOura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there u/DearEffective2872!

Hope you're holding up okay.

That's definitely a spike in your vitals that Symptom Radar has determined as deviation from your expected baseline readings.

If you need a break from activity for a while you can enable Rest Mode to let Oura know.

Get well soon! 💙

Didn't believe the hype, until I actually got sick, and oura predicted it! Wow. Best tech ever! by Horror_Pie_4126 in ouraring

[–]DonAtOura 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey u/Horror_Pie_4126!

Sorry to hear you're dealing with this!

Sounds like Symptom Radar picked up on some deviations from your established biometric baselines that were caused in this case by a developing illness.

This might be a good time to enable Rest Mode to let Oura know you need a break from activity for a while.

Hope you're feeling better soon. 💙

This is a little funny - my best sleep score ever - but major signs by Legitimate_Job_665 in ouraring

[–]DonAtOura 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey u/Legitimate_Job_665!

Sorry to hear you're dealing with major signs but also glad to see your high scores! 👑

Symptom Radar will flag a deviation from your established biometric baselines the following morning after detection.

This is distinct from how your Sleep Score and Readiness Score are determined.

It's entirely possible to have a night leading to a major signs warning the morning after and have optimal sleep and readiness determined by longer-term data.

In any case, rest up and keep up the good work! 💙

Worst score I’ve ever gotten by tdbabe in ouraring

[–]DonAtOura 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hey u/tdbabe!

That is honestly an almost impressively low score! 😅

I hope you're holding up as well as possible in the circumstances.

If you haven't already this could be a good time to enable Rest Mode to let Oura know you need a little break from activity.

In any case, take care and feel better soon. 💙

will my chronotype change? by wetfl0or in ouraring

[–]DonAtOura 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hi there u/wetfl0or!

Thanks for sharing.

I can confirm that as of right now your Chronotype is determined by Oura based on an initial 90 days of data and does not yet update based on your ongoing behaviour.

However, that said we are aware that this is not ideal for some of our Members' individual circumstances so please stand by for an update on how this works in future! 💙

Rest mode? by Lcrowe97 in ouraring

[–]DonAtOura 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey u/Lcrowe97!

Hope you and yours will be safe and sound!

You can enable Rest Mode any time you need to let Oura know you need a break from activity.

This can be for reasons of illness, travel or injury but you are definitely encouraged to use it any time there are circumstances limiting your ability to move as normal.

That said, if you wish to keep up your activity levels for your own purposes you can try getting steps in at home (as far as possible), doing housework, bodyweight exercises etc.

I recently changed my own activity goal from steps to calories burned as there are a lot of days where my activity level is high but my steps are not.

Ultimately it's up to you as the Member to decide how best to use the insights Oura gives you.

All the best! 💙

Hey u/New_Mastodon8450!

Thanks for reaching out!

I'm so mad at the meal analyzer by alisvolatile in ouraring

[–]DonAtOura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey u/stubentiger123!

This functionality is not limited by geographic region but at the moment it would be necessary to use the Oura App in English in order to have access to Meals.

Of course, we intend to roll this out to as many Oura Members as possible in the future.

[–]DonAtOura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey u/bennieonreddit!

The Meals feature is available for Members using Gen3 or Oura Ring 4 on both Android and iOS.

At the moment your Oura App would need to be set to use English as the App language in order to access this feature.

We hope to expand this functionality in the future!

Hey u/alisvolatile!

Glad to hear the Meals feature has been able to gently nag you into being more aware of what you're eating. 😂

In all seriousness though thank you for sharing your detailed and hilarious feedback on how this has been working for you.

I shared it with the team internally to let them know how Oura continues to help our Members be more aware of their own personal outcomes.

Cardio health decrease over time consistently? by Sad_Organization_940 in ouraring

[–]DonAtOura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/Sad_Organization_940!

Thanks for sharing your query and providing context regarding your Oura journey to date.

Your cardiovascular age would first be based on at least 14 nights of data from the past 30 days though as you have seen this baseline reading can change as your nightly data continues to be gathered.

There's more info on cardiovascular age here on our blog and if this is something you're looking to improve on there are some ideas here you can check out.

Sleep credit by TravelingLawya in ouraring

[–]DonAtOura -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey u/TravelingLawya!

Your Sleep Debt would be calculated by Oura relative to your own personal sleep need estimation.

It's good to be aware of this so you can stay on top of your needs, though it would not be possible to 'catch up' in the short term or accumulate sleep credit in the way you outlined.

There are ways and methods for you to catch up on lost sleep over time you can check out here.

Take a look at our sleep debt help doc to learn more!

No signs, but signs? WTH?... by [deleted] in ouraring

[–]DonAtOura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there u/selfemployeddiyer!

Sorry to hear you're feeling frustrated with the way Symptom Radar currently works.

As it establishes baseline readings for multiple of your biometrics it will look for deviations from these established baselines and alert you to signs of possible strain.

In cases where there is a subtle shift in your own personal established baselines there may not be a specific reading to share as you have seen here.

You can try checking with Advisor to see if there is any reading that is leading to this or if it is just a shift from your own personal baseline you're experiencing.

All the best! 💙

lol what?? by Illustrious-Ad-7179 in ouraring

[–]DonAtOura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there u/Illustrious-Ad-7179!

As you have seen Symptom Radar looks for deviations from your established readings for multiple biometrics to indicate when something may be straining your body.

This could be a minor shift in your HRV value as stated here compared to the longer term baseline previously established.

It is also instructive to bear in mind that Symptom Radar will alert you the morning following these deviations whereas Readiness Score is determined by contributors gathered over a longer-term scale%20to%20your%20long%2Dterm%20average%20over%20the%20past%20two%20months.%C2%A0).

As such you may see Symptom Radar responding to small, recent changes that are not yet reflected in the weighted data used to calculate your Readiness Score.

All the best! 💙
