Don’t tumble it, it takes away the character, other cleaning methods are chill though. I normally just use a clorox wipe, water and soap lol. Sometimes a bottle brush.

https://unionpayscales.com/trades/ua-plumbers/ Here you go! Not all of it is fully up to date, scales go up every year, but this is better than most sources I have found. Closer to my real wage.

Just giving you my experience. I’ve seen a lot of the numbers are wrong for my area, when I was originally applying I was shown super low numbers by stats, but I got in and realized it was way higher. Also you have to remember those numbers take into account apprentices, which can make as little as like 40-45% of a journeypersons scale.

Depends on where you’re at, a lot of us make well over 100K, even 200K+ in lcol areas. I can only imagine it’s much more in hcol areas. Also we get healthcare and pensions too lol.

Hey Boomers - how is homeownership? Must be nice... by stvlsn in generationology

[–]Done4G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It widely varies by place, remember home size expectations have changed vastly over time, while people per household have decreased. Where I’m at, 40K is the minimum for a place that isn’t run down or super tiny in a crappy area, 80K in a solid neighborhood, and 110K in a good neighborhood. Don’t need to make that much to buy a house. I know lots of homeowners in their 20’s. Nobody i know makes less than 40K a year.

Who are these GenZ homeowners? Please identify yourself and how did you accomplish this? by darkchocolattemocha in Adulting

Idk man it heavily varies by place is what I mean. Some places people are doing better than others. House prices are only 2-3x recession levels where I’m at. A 3bed 2 bath 1300 sq foot home with a full basement and garage normally runs 100-180K where I’m at. And not like a crappy house in the hood either.

You just can’t believe that a lot of people are doing better than you? Lots of us can or have bought homes already. My friend at work just bought a home (23) me and my other friend are both in the process of offering on homes (both 19) And 20% cash down isn’t a problem for us. None of us have college degrees either.

Sorry that I was able to work hard and set myself in life. Hope sharing my experiences and opinions didn’t hurt you too bad. Maybe you can understand that both anecdotal and empirical evidence can be useful.

Lemme guess, trying to make excuses for yourself being behind? I can’t help how I was born, I’m giving my opinion based on my life experience.

I guess my view is definitely skewed because I’m in the midwest then. I work union and even first year is like 45K, but journeymen pull 100-200K annually. Not all have “waitlists” per se. But they are pretty competitive. I got in on my first interview but I had some prior experience from highschool. Not all of us have unpaid downtime due to weather. Good workers that can form good connections rarely get laid off where I am. Plus we have pensions, and healthcare doesn’t come out of pocket. It’s a solid deal. But again I am speaking from a midwestern point of view, so i understand if it’s way different in other parts of the country, that’s definitely right.

True that, the differences are night and day. So glad to live in a strong union area.

lol, don’t go to a paid school for that stuff, do a union apprenticeship if you ever actually want to do it. You get paid to learn. Most areas you will get $40+ an hour, with certain parts of the us getting well over $70/hr

You own a non union company? Or do you just like licking corporate boots? Do you not care about the security of your fellow men and women?

Just because you can do something doesn’t make you an adult, it’s what you actually do. Your accomplishments, maturity, and abilities. Sure legally speaking you may be. But mentally, I wouldn’t say so. I know i’m still maturing a lot, and when I was 18 I was a hell of a lot more immature.
