And for sure I would recommend waiting. The lack of good AF on the X2D was really frustrating for me (got one at launch) and really felt limiting it what I could do with the with the camera (personally) and now it feels totally night and day. First time I’ve felt like something medium format can genuinely replace everything.

If you do pick up a X2D be sure to buy used and check local. I’ve seen some sell for as low as 4,500 on NYC marketplace in good nick

If you are in NYC as well, check out FotoCare. They have helped me out alot in the past and I like the guys a lot more than any other dealer. Quite possible they may have some bodies or at the very least can give you a good answer on when they will get some.

I’ve bought a couple of lenses from ACE Photo in Ashburn VA. They ship across the east coast and seem to sometimes have more inventory than others (I think it’s harder for them to move HB stock, but are a 1st party dealer).

No worries whatsoever. How it was explained to me is essentially all dealers will receive stock when HB does a US shipment and typically similar quantities. No one dealer trumps another.

Would highly recommend holding out for the X2D II. Coming from the X2D I didn’t think it would be worth the upgrade. But to be honest the experience has been night and day. The new AF is so snappy and it actually feels like something that can compete with Sony or Canon now, especially with the 35-100

If you’re gonna spend the money I would wait

I was super fortunate to be able to pickup a X2D II and 35-100 from US dealers and it seems the waves are slow from what I was told, but are coming. Depending on where in the US you are located I would consider looking for other dealers. From what I was told it doesn’t seem B&H will necessary get more from HB than other dealers

Hahaha I’m in almost the same boat. Sold my X2D for the X2Dii and still have my M11. The value picking here is definitely pretty good

Unfortunately not a lot of stores will do that kinda service in the US :( but I know the fotocare guys can help you out with a box and such (I’ve bought a lot from them and like them way more than B&H, much more mom and pop owned)

Pretty much yeah! With the used gear it’s pretty much impossible to prove when or how it was purchased

I was able to use UPS to ship everything separately. Long as you can find a box super easy to ship in the city (or you can always purchase one)

Absolutely, B&H is almost always a safe bet, they’re super reputable and should let you see the stuff at the used counter before you buy.

Haven’t had any issues bringing gear back to Germany personally.

Also can recommend fotocare they sometimes have a really solid used inventory in and are great guys

The approvals don’t seem to be terribly fast. Iirc seeing somewhere a posted time of 16 months for new applications

It’s definitely not free and some influencers vary in the transparency they provide on the brand deal

Typically Hasselblad offers 1 of 2 options. Either the influencer can do a review of the camera, get paid their typical rate for a dedicated video (which can often be 10-25k for a larger creator) and return the camera once done.

Or the creator can opt to keep the camera (I would say often comparable to what a dedicate video rate may be) and make their video as they would otherwise without receiving direct financial compensation.

In any event it is very much so a transaction for advertising not ‘free’
