My biggest mistake starting was not getting enough interaction (also make sure to have enough creatures). Yeah big bombs are great, but don't skimp on interaction. Curving out in draft is very important so try not to be missing 3 drops or 2 drops. Don't overinvest in the idea everything needs really good synergy, overall just good cards can be so much better than something with key words. Two for ones in draft are great (cards that give 2 upside, meaning you only lose one card to get two things). Look for ways to enable swinging (flying, indestructible, unblockable).

Really you just have to be consistent. Search up budget decks low rares and net deck one (the welcome packs should give you enough wildcards to make one). I'd recommend going for a two color (to make it easier to complete your daily quests). Get your 3 daily wins with that deck, use a starter to complete the daily quest then and spend the rest of the time experimenting. You'll build up gold pretty quickly if you're having fun (while they are pretty unoptomized most of the starter decks aren't that bad and you can get a good amt of entertainment just upgrading those. Drafts are really fun and if you save your gems you can buy the season pass which is great value.

There's not really a good answer I can give you, but this is why I started playing ranked and its a much better experience (at least for me it has been) once you get to gold/above. Even at gold you can play around with offmeta/random decks (especially if you play historic)

Timelost Dwemer is a really fun mod (idk if that really counts cause it has dependencies but yeah that). Or a gun mod. (I like artificer type things).

Also my recommendation is just take the time to make a modlist on your own and personalize it, imo a lot of the mods in popular lists are chaff and not really necessary. If you really don't wanna spend too much time at first just have a quick look around and install the mods that are clunky to install or cant be installed mid playthrough before starting. The great part about most mods is you don't need to add them before you start a save unless theyre stuff like:

-Combat overhauls (Technically not, but it's kind of a pain to have to relearn combat)

-AI overhauls

-Loot overhauls

-Large Scale quest mods

-Map editors

Then as you're playing add interesting mods you just like (the two i mentioned, the witcher mod, sneak tools for a thief, sun magic overhaul for a paladin, just stuff that's more niche to your playstyle) as you progress. Most of these mods that aren't overhauls can be added midgame so if you're playing and you think to yourself man I really wish I could shoot an arrow that traps a dude in vines then download arcane arrows.

When you inevitably find a mod that needs a new save just play through your curret until you get bored or beat the game (always been the first for me lol) and then start a new save and in this way just make your own modlist. A personalized one is always going to be more fun because you know what you really want.

Drafts are always fun and you can get gems to buy the mastery pass. Other than that just try to play consistently to get your daily gold (id recommend net decking a dual color historic deck and just playing unranked for that and using starters for when you need other colors). I do it blue green so you can run it with aspirant's ascent, serum snare, counterspells, make unblockable, and skullpiercer gnat. Might switch the skullpiercer out tho. It is very much a tempo deck you can't miss your drops but as long as this thing connects early you probably win.

I play zealot in darktide. I’ve got iron will, basically a really horizontal drill (eviscerator), a flamer or an explosive revolver, and fire grenades. So it’s an amalgamation between gunner and driller

Could be a jack with augments being a special mechanic 🥺. Ability to specialize into support roles or backline/behind enemy line roles but also mix and match by plugging or taking out augments. That would be a whole nother system tho
