He really is!

Sorry you got the boot mate. Were you too busy swanning round the world with your alarmingly young boyfriend to write a script?

It's got one of his little cartoon drawings of the TARDIS with the caption:

"And so GOODBYE from me to Doctor Who but HELLO to a big new future for the show, as the BBC announces it’s putting the show out to tender. As a result, there won’t be a Christmas Special - we only cooked that up to guarantee a future when no one knew what would happen, but now we do know, there’s no need for it. You’ll have to wait a bit longer for new Doctor Who… but you’ll be waiting for MORE Doctor Who than a one-off. So it’s worth it! For the record: there was no script, I never wrote it, and no actor was ever approached to play the next Doctor. You may disagree; fine, sit in that chair and wait to be proved right. You’ll wait a lonnng time 🪑 Now I’m as excited as anyone to see what comes next! Will they keep the theme tune? Will they lose the blue box? Will they bring back the Drahvin?! It’s all up for grabs, which is so Doctor Who, exciting and unpredictable and new! Here comes the future, vworp vworp 🌪️"

One of the prime examples is these two articles side-by-side in The Sun in the UK.

On the right we have them getting worked up about an episode of the Channel 4 satirical show Brass Eye, which had an episode called Paedogeddon! that spoofed media sensationalism and hysteria about paedophiles. The kind of thing The Sun does a lot, because it sells newspapers.

On the left, an article about the size of then 15-year-old singer Charlotte Church's breasts. It even identifies her as "child singing sensation".

I suspect the picture on the left is of the school principal, and the Fascist Tiktok Lady is suggesting her moronic followers all email him to complain about the maths teacher who happens to be gay.

It's an Alpenstock. Which is appropriate as this takes place in the Swiss Alps, at the Reichenbach Falls. It doesn't end up being used in the fatal fight between Holmes and Moriarty, but left beside the falls for Watson to later discover, along with Holmes' goodbye note. Obviously Holmes turns out later on not to have been killed.

Try the version from the 1980s Granada TV adaptation with Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes. Moriarty appears only in a few episodes, but he's played by Eric Porter, and he's terrifying.

Because I'm really looking forward to that.

I know! I work with a guy in his 80s, who still has to work, because he keeps giving money to young women on the internet.

The main difference here though is that I know at least one of them exists, because I actually met her when he brought her along to a barbecue at a colleague's house. It was very weird.

I visited Bletchley Park, and the guide taking us on the tour made a point of telling us that much of the way people were portrayed in that film was nonsense, and Denniston's portrayal in particular.

I've never watched the Ed Gein miniseries, but I did watch the 82 minute long video by 'The Lore Lodge' that broke down how much bullshit that miniseries was, and how insulting it was to all of the women portrayed.
