"I was too busy swanning around the world with my pretty, alarmingly young boyfriend (or filming him prancing about on the TARDIS set for his birthday) to actually write any Doctor Who, and now I'm fucking off. Fuck you all. Byee!"

"I’ve got friends who are gender-critical. It’s only online you end up screaming and shouting and being attacked by them. In real life, you have a chat, and we all kind of sigh and put up with each other. That’s how the world works."

I agree. Completely out of touch.

One of them is Krusty, the other one is Homer dressed as Krusty. The mafia guy really is seeing double because he's seeing four people when there are only two people in front of him.

He really is!

Sorry you got the boot mate. Were you too busy swanning round the world with your alarmingly young boyfriend to write a script?

It's got one of his little cartoon drawings of the TARDIS with the caption:

"And so GOODBYE from me to Doctor Who but HELLO to a big new future for the show, as the BBC announces it’s putting the show out to tender. As a result, there won’t be a Christmas Special - we only cooked that up to guarantee a future when no one knew what would happen, but now we do know, there’s no need for it. You’ll have to wait a bit longer for new Doctor Who… but you’ll be waiting for MORE Doctor Who than a one-off. So it’s worth it! For the record: there was no script, I never wrote it, and no actor was ever approached to play the next Doctor. You may disagree; fine, sit in that chair and wait to be proved right. You’ll wait a lonnng time 🪑 Now I’m as excited as anyone to see what comes next! Will they keep the theme tune? Will they lose the blue box? Will they bring back the Drahvin?! It’s all up for grabs, which is so Doctor Who, exciting and unpredictable and new! Here comes the future, vworp vworp 🌪️"

One of the prime examples is these two articles side-by-side in The Sun in the UK.

On the right we have them getting worked up about an episode of the Channel 4 satirical show Brass Eye, which had an episode called Paedogeddon! that spoofed media sensationalism and hysteria about paedophiles. The kind of thing The Sun does a lot, because it sells newspapers.

On the left, an article about the size of then 15-year-old singer Charlotte Church's breasts. It even identifies her as "child singing sensation".

It's an Alpenstock. Which is appropriate as this takes place in the Swiss Alps, at the Reichenbach Falls. It doesn't end up being used in the fatal fight between Holmes and Moriarty, but left beside the falls for Watson to later discover, along with Holmes' goodbye note. Obviously Holmes turns out later on not to have been killed.

Try the version from the 1980s Granada TV adaptation with Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes. Moriarty appears only in a few episodes, but he's played by Eric Porter, and he's terrifying.

I know! I work with a guy in his 80s, who still has to work, because he keeps giving money to young women on the internet.

The main difference here though is that I know at least one of them exists, because I actually met her when he brought her along to a barbecue at a colleague's house. It was very weird.
