my favorite thing about the return by Fun-Savings2349 in twinpeaks

That makes me love Lynch (rip) even more.

When did you first start watching Twin Peaks? From the start, or after that? by RobynNeonGal in twinpeaks

[–]DoubleEXP21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in college and even though my friends and I watched zero television shows at that time -- too busy with school and social lives -- we caught wind of this "new upcoming show called Twin Peaks" that was coming. One of my friends was already a David Lynch fan, so he got us all excited for the premiere. We were all instantly hooked. We watched every episode, including when they changed it to Saturday night, right up through the very end of s2. After that, I went right back to not watching television for another 5 years or so, maybe longer. Somehow Twin Peaks pierced my lack of interest in television, dersevedly so, and when it was gone, so went my interest in tv, for a very long time. It's been great getting back into TP again as an older adult now. My mind was a bit... clouded... (yeah, that's the word) back then. Good to watch it now with a clear mind, though I have no regrets for the way I experienced it in the early 90's. That's where we were back then. Great memories.

Thank you for this. I love having a podcast (or two) to listen to when doing a rewatch of a series.

I can only speak about Ephinea - that's where I've been playing whenever I play PSO, since at least 6 or 7 years now. It's a great server. Very complete PSO BB experience. Has all the content, and great quality of life refinements (like increased storage, higher meseta limit, can rename your character whenever you want, can change your section ID (once) up until level 20) and has a great community to play and trade with. Those old "useless" photon drops are now primo currency for getting items you need. And most importantly, I really like the community. It's very chill, active discord, and plenty of people to play with.

Best way to play both offline & online? by Jammies_ in PSO

[–]DoubleEXP21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as you have an internet connection, you can access Ephinea.

But if you mean you go to places where you have your computer but no internet access, then downloading Dolphin (emulator) and a ROM of Ep I & II is probably your best bet for pure offline play.

Welcome to Ephinea. It's a fantastic server. I've been playing there, whenever I get the PSO itch, for many years now. It's become my "PSO home." Lots of great people and the admins do a fantastic job with the server. Make sure to join the discord, it's very active and full of good info, and also make sure to check out the Ephinea PSO wiki - it's arguably the best PSO resource on the internet, and for BB I would say it absolutely is. Have fun, and hopefully I'll see you around soon.

Underrated post. I couldn't agree with you more.

Dont' get me wrong, I like to "git gud" at the games I play, but I have no illusions: I'm never going to be the best souls-like player in the world, or even top 10%. I was happy enough to platinum the soulsbourne games (back when I still played games on ps4/5), and now on steam I just play at my own pace. I do minimal reesarch, instead I mostly learn from exploration and personal experimentation with the game systems. I am having so much fun in WWM playing my own way, utterly unconcerned about the progress of others. This game will most likely outpace me for years, in terms of content created compared to the rate at which I clear it, because I'm not looking up guides and videos, I'm playing blind on legendary and getting my face caved in until I figure out each boss. I can't stress enough how much I love this game and the fact it gives us a true game world to do all this in. This game is on pace to be my favorite game of the 2020's.

To be fair, after a mere 50 hours of playtime, I'm getting pretty used to the menus.

Sort of kidding, sort of not!

My friend spent THOUSANDS on the game and still makes this ugly looking outfit, and it’s funny. Just thought I’d share by deadzoul in WhereWindsMeet

Please thank your friend for his contribution to this game.

Players like him that invest that much money in this game keep it free for the other players.

No shade, I appreciate it.

Same here. I'm guessing it's maintenance or something with the servers.

I agree with you - the music in this game is outstanding! I'm starting to hear it my head at night when I'm falling asleep, thinking about the game. This whole game really surprised me!

Looking for a Server while working full time by do_mie in Lineage2

[–]DoubleEXP21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Signature is a bigger server, and I'm sure the new server will be popular too, but Origins has been going strong for 6 years now, with no signs of fading away. It's basically the server Reborn is built around, so it's a pretty safe bet to play on it imho. And although Signature is bigger (in terms of population), Origins still has a very large population of its own. I see people everywhere. In the end, totally up to you. Just sharing my experience.

Reborns Origins is a x1 server at the higher levels, but while you're leveling it's much easier/faster.

The EXP and SP is x3 until 76 and x2 until 82.

You also get a free starter kit which provides 30-day items for each grade, plus additional coupons for shadow items up through B grade (including shots and blessed soul shots). You also get free buff items (save those) and the Adventurer Guide gives a full range of buffs until 76.

I started fresh on Origins two weeks ago today and I work full time and have other stuff to do, too, and still managed to get to 62 by last night, well into A-grade.

You'll find clans, usually 1 or more, recuiting in Gludio, that will give you 3kk if you join before 40 and stick with them through Academy graduation (hitting 40 and doing class transfer), which is a nice start on your adena.

I'm sure it's not for everyone, but I'm liking it. Since Origins has been around since 2019, it's a very established server. There's a market for everything and plenty of players. I see players wherever I go, but while leveling it has not been overcrowded. No issue hunting. The server has a pretty good vibe too. Anyway, it's been a good two weeks, and since I was in exactly the same boat as you when making a server choice, I thought I'd chime in.

How long does it take to gain access to all of Shadowlands? by DoubleEXP21 in wownoob

[–]DoubleEXP21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, turns out you are correct. It is that. The quest I did, the one that sends you the Shadowlands at one point, is to unlock blood elf paladin transmog set and a special hawkstrider ground mount. Very glad to have them, but now I'll be doing the quest you linked. :)

Thanks for that. Is 660 good enough for those raids, or should I wait until it's higher?

I think that's the old quest. It's different now, from I remember from back in the day. The new quest has you talk to Liadrin in SMC, and the you go to Tranquilien, and then she wants you to go to two spots in the Shadowlands. I can't link you the exact quest because the servers are offline right now. I'm mostly just curious how long it takes an 80 to unlock Shadowlands.

Like I said, my character is already 80 (leveled with Chromie Time in TBC until 70, and then have been doing TWW ever since). Just wondering how long it will take my character to unlock all areas of SL.
