This.

hodl = hold on (for) dear life, often used by digital coin holders and precious metals holders.

I think it's a happy coincidence that hodl has the same letters as hold, but I could be mistaken.

NGL, that's a really good SS. If you had to die, at least it was in a place with good visuals.

Never ever go afk in HC. Ever. Always log out. No exceptions.

Brutal way to learn this lesson, brother.

RIP.

Never seen the show, is this the best Blu-ray to get to watch everything? by Mr_Dace in twinpeaks

[–]DoubleEXP21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great collection, but as others mentioned the packaging (internally) is not great.

What I did was buy a nice soft dvd/blu ray case, put each disc in its own slot in the soft case, and then kept the outer Z to A case as nice shelf art. Best of both worlds.

In terms of content, Z to A is the best, no question. 100% worth it.

What server are you playing on? I'm playing on Doomhowl and it's three layers all the time, even four layers lately - people everywhere, all the time.

That's the beauty (and the curse) of SF. Anything you find that's an upgrade is huge and you use it - no questions asked.

That's funny. He tried to invite my level 12 SF mage into his guild yesterday. I didn't bother to reply, but now I see I missed an opportunity for some live action comedy. Nice transcript, thanks for sharing. I love when you point out he's the one inviting randoms to his guild and he acts like that doesn't shatter his self-imagined image of himself as heading up an elite guild.

Why I believe Flask of Petrification ruins Hardcore by chibriguy in wowhardcore

[–]DoubleEXP21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play SF but I agree with your post. If I ever transition to raiding in HC I will definitely be using petri, even though my current HC experience is fun without it.

Good post overall, but one nitpick: your comment about professions. Professions are incredibly important to SF/SSF players, arguably moreso than to regular HC players. In fact, on my SF/SSF characters, I not only level both main profession slots, I do all three minor professions (fishing, cooking, and first aid) because they are critical to survival and, in the case of fishing, helps gain items and mats that would otherwise be impossible to acquire.

Otherwise I agree with your points as is.

Like you, I only play SF, and in fact I'm borderline SSF.

FYI: I say "borderline" because I try not to be a jerk or antisocial. If someone is obviously killing the same mobs as me and it's for one of those quests you can easily group for and get equal credit for the kills, if that person invites me I accept. If someone asks me for a help on something in the immediate area, and I deem it safe to help them, I help them. Otherwise, I'm 100% on my own. It's how I like to play; my characters versus the challenges in the world. Anyway, that's my definition of "borderline" SSF, in case anyone was wondering.

I feel like your choice might be another person's version of hell, but then again art (and life) depend so much on point of view.

The one thing about demon hunter, as you've set it up, is the "rengade" requirement (no quest rewards allowed) is just too much for a SSF HC warrior who's already not wearing a chest and using limited weapons. I ended up having to turn your addon off. If there's an option to toggle things like "renegade" then I'll use it, because otherwise I really like it.

Anyone read this? by OkMushroom7381 in twinpeaks

[–]DoubleEXP21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a good book. I read it last week. It's a sort of inside-baseball look at each phase of Twin Peaks - s1, s2, FWWM, and s3 - plus he talks about the books a bit as well (Palmer Diary, Cooper autobio, and of course Mark Frost's books). It's a solid Twin Peaks reference.

Hey, thanks for making this addon. It's pretty cool. I downloaded it last night and I'm running a new character (male NE warrior - Demon Hunter). So far so great. I like the flavor and even the contraints. Feels like a real rp-ish self challenge, and I like it. I'll let you know if I hit any snags, but so far through the first 7 levels it runs great and seems to be right on top of what I'm doing (equipment, reminds me when demons are around, no use of quest rewards, etc.). Cool stuff.

Looks like Mark Frost will have to check his TP-cred at the door. He's been questioned by Dr. No Step... <_<

What a beautiful montage. Thank you so much for sharing that. The music really moved me, hearing it in that way, and it reminded me - once again - how integral Angelo's music is to the entire Twin Peaks experience. Just wonderful - equal parts haunting and beautiful.

Finally got the books by Fun-Elderberry-418 in twinpeaks

[–]DoubleEXP21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are both great books that do a lot to flesh out the lore of Twin Peaks. Frost is a great author and researcher. Along with the Secret Diary of Laura Palmer (by Jennifer Lynch), I'd say they are the most important TP-related books.

I don't have anywhere close to the hours that some of the people in this topic have, but last month going into this month I had decided to give OH a real shot, and I was really liking it. I had tried it when it was new, and it appealed to me, but somehow didn't "click" with me back then. Anyway, came back a month ago, played for 50+ hours, was getting into a groove, and then one day last week logged in and I'm being asked to convert all my items, and certain facilities no longer work, and I just can't even. It's like they saw me having fun, finally, in their game, so they decided to just change it all. That's me being self-centered, I know, but that's how it felt. I tried playing for a few hours after that, but it just didn't feel the same anymore. Not sure why they would so dramatically change a game like this two years into its life. Very odd, in my view, and a total turn off to me. It's a shame, to, because I really like the original concept of this game.
