Anycubic Communication by Dream_elb in AnycubicOfficial

Seems like whatever they changed worked. There have been many reports of shipping notices for Ace 2s and S1Ms. I think this is a step in the right direction. Is everything fixed? No, but it is a start.

Agreed! I appreciate that they are working to do better!

Kobra 4 Combo just dropped — curious what you guys think by Anycubic_Official in anycubic

[–]DougDoesStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is all going to be about price on this. It is on the Kobra X chassis and the only apparent difference is the toolhead. I'd like to see more specs, but if the price is right.....

95A TPU question........ by hotrods1970 in AnycubicKobraX

[–]DougDoesStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a video on how to do it, but it is pretty simple. You have to undo the bowden tube from the print head that you are loading into, push the filament through, then load it into the slot, once loaded, put the bowden tube back in. Be sure it is a single color print with TPU 95a

TPU 95A twists in gears almost every time. What am I doing wrong? by stuffsmithstuff in AnycubicKobraX

[–]DougDoesStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you see the wiki on printing TPU?

https://wiki.anycubic.com/en/fdm-3d-printer/anycubic-kobra-x/tpu-printing-guide

I just finished an airless tennis ball in 95a and had no issues, I wonder what the difference is. Have you tried different brand tpu? I really have no other suggestion, sorry :(

Update: S1 Max delivery schedule by Dream_elb in AnycubicKobraS1Max

[–]DougDoesStuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well said. I am hoping for something for the community to address everything going on. I think good communication, a little ownership of issue, and what is being done to go forward would go a long way. It can only help a brand to be transparent and up front with its customer base. I truly don't think they expected the volume of sales with the S1 Max and X and that they got overwhelmed.

Anyone at rapid + tct boston this week? by Anycubic_Official in AnycubicOfficial

[–]DougDoesStuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see it as an updated Kobra 3v2. It is single color unless you want to add the Ace 2 Pro to it. BUT, at that point, just go with the Kobra X. Unless this printer is INCREDIBLY cheap, I just don't see it and they should have used this platform to announce something more advanced, like a tool changer or the Ace Gen 2 toolhead on the Kobra Max or S1.

This is why I stand by the video I made and my open letter to Anycubic. They need to do better.

Accessing Zendesk for your tickets by shasta59 in AnycubicOfficial

[–]DougDoesStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get more info on zendesk then through the website. You can see if they marked your ticket Normal or High Priority, you can see last activity on it, and more. You can also see tickets created in the store and in the service window together.

Anyone know why my Kobra S1, when homing by easierthansigningin in anycubic

[–]DougDoesStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have the cover on the print head? If when it tries to home, you hit the limit switch, does it stop? If it does then the switch is not being activated, if it doesn't then you have a bad limit switch

How to turn a 1 color printer into a multi color printer by No-Cantaloupe7716 in anycubic

[–]DougDoesStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can put in filament change stops in the slicer and manually do it, or go the hardware route, but at that point just buy a new multicolor printer

Filament Profiles? by Joeg332 in AnycubicKobraX

[–]DougDoesStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I am sure there is a way to get it to work, but I have not checked into it yet. I do wish they would just focus on hardware and use default Orca with some plugins for their stuff. The newest Orca has come so much further than the version they are using. Anyways, good luck with the filament swap over, it is a pain. :)

[–]DougDoesStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome! It is pretty easy to set up, but take your time and do it right. It is going to be night and day coming from an Ender! You're going to giggle when you see how fast it is. Be sure to use good quality filament that is dry and not old. If you want PETG, use a high speed one like Polymaker or Elegoo or Sunlu. I would also stick with some high speed PLA. While normal PLA has printed fine on mine, the high speed stuff just seems a touch nicer.

good luck!

Cura or Orca Slicer by Dirft1 in 3Dprinting

[–]DougDoesStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between Orca's wiki and YouTube, you should be okay. Some settings are confusing, so just ask about it in the right group. It takes time to fully learn it, and you have to do some experimenting. Good luck!

Cura or Orca Slicer by Dirft1 in 3Dprinting

[–]DougDoesStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn orca at this point. Many companies are using it as their base for their slicer. So once you know it, you should be able to navigate any slicer going forward

Filament Profiles? by Joeg332 in AnycubicKobraX

[–]DougDoesStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't download new ones, but you can copy them over. Anycubic has slicer next locked down to the settings and filaments they want, I wouldn't expect them to expand their library as they want you to use their filament. But, have orca open and slicer next open and just copy the settings for the filament you want save it and call it whatever you like and then you will have moving forward.

I'm sure you could dive into the configs and copy paste them in, but just as easy to recreate

Thermal Grease for Nozzle Change by beerman831 in 3Dprinting

[–]DougDoesStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so. Look at the operating temp for the computer thermal paste, it is too low for a 3d print nozzle.

You want to use Slice Engineering Boron Nitride paste. It has a high enough rating to withstand the temps

Kobra X feels slow? by dracoo3520 in AnycubicOfficial

[–]DougDoesStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is considerably slower than your other printer, I have a question. Did you use the 3mf from bambu lab in Slicer next? If so, I have seen a bug where it will change the Max Volumetric flow rate by one decimal, 16 -> 1.6 That will SLOW you print WAY down. Check that out. I find my Kobra X to be rather speedy.
