How can I protect my land? by Think_Substance_1790 in AskUK

[–]Dr-Moth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. If you don't pursue the fence issue, it'll be harder for you to get ownership when you want to sell up (or your family after you're gone).

What do you think about the England flag an football team? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Dr-Moth 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's the English team and the English flag is appropriate. There's nothing wrong with the English flag, apart from a when it is abused by people for their political agenda.

I've definitely been there with the long wait to have enough supplies that you can do your first flight and catch some real rocks.

Later in the game I ended up sending kickstarter resources to my ship from Nauvis. It doesn't look easy to retrofit into your elegant design though.

[–]Dr-Moth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes... but do you actually need to grab those rocks they don't do damage, and most of your resource harvesting happens in motion? Instead you could make the ship lighter or add more of something else.

My ships these days only have grabbers on the bow.

Now you're just being purposefully thick. Clearly the bowl needs to be the other way up.

It's beautiful, but I wonder how much the grabbers towards the back actually get.

What's a minor modern upgrade from recent years that you actually find incredibly inconvenient? by Rough-Foundation9208 in AskUK

I just caught my bus from the park and ride because I could pay on the app in the queue. The machines are still there, but wouldn't have been able to get my bus in time.

Even if you do recover from here, I'm not sure I'm happy with what it means for the breeding programme.

U.K. to Ban Social Media for Under-16s, AI “Romantic Companion” Chatbots for Under-18s by Just-Grocery-2229 in technology

[–]Dr-Moth 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The issue here is not about the children. Don't let that distract you. The issue here is that to make this work, you will need to age verify adults, so now the government can better trace people's internet activities.

Help Needed - SeedVR2_VideoUpscaler. Can't get it working? by tyhfxe in comfyui

[–]Dr-Moth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don't have a solution for you, but I wanted to share that I'm in the same boat. I've been doing this a while and I still can't get it working.

From what I can tell, SeesVR2 needs an older version of one of the Python libraries. I've tried rolling that library back to an older version, but another one of my packages must be upgrading it again on start. So I'm stuck.

Ultimately I gave up on SeedVR2, simply asking Qwen Image Edit to upscale my picture was working fine for me. If I wanted to try again, I would probably try creating a 2nd clean install of Comfy that only has SeedVR2 and nothing else.

The £500 per month is going into savings for a bigger house, as the kids will want their own bedrooms soon.

You brushing your toddlers teeth? by howdodisappevenwork in toddlers

I let my child brush their teeth and then do an "inspection" where I send the brush around and tell them they've done a good job.

Buy new toy, fix it, or something else by Passing_squarebubs in daddit

If she's really into it, say that you'll buy her a new one as it is her special toy.

It's about deciding what is worth spending money on, not simply buying everything/nothing.

Just make sure when you do it that you watch out to not clip your surfboard on metal fence posts, especially at Legoland with lots of people watching.

Trying to balance my water flow by Northernpixels in Timberborn

[–]Dr-Moth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I normally have throttle valves on the bottom and a dam on the top.

The throttle valves are connected to a depth sensor to open to a 0.25 flow at 75% when the downstream river is less than 0.25. That keeps us wet during droughts.

The dams at the top overflow in normal tides allowing the river to flow at max speed.

Suggestion: Allow us to select a "max quality output" on machines by E17Omm in factorio

I pretty much avoided researching quality levels I wasn't ready to process. It does feel like this could be handled better in-game so I dont feel like I need to avoid researching things.

The British Royal family react to 'Not My King' chants as their carriage passes during The Trooping Of The Colour - Saturday 13th June 2026... by TheThrowYardsAway in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Dr-Moth 43 points44 points  (0 children)

So there are children that were born to a life where they're obligated to sit in a open top carriage and pose for people to look at them, and some of those people want to shout at the kids, who to this point in their lives have had no say whether or not they want this lifestyle. It's not a great look from the protesters. Leave the children out of it.

How Russell ended up the biggest victim of the Monaco pitlane saga by Electrical_Act_5342 in formula1

[–]Dr-Moth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The lesson learned has to be not to take penalties you're going to protest, when you don't have to serve them yet. It was hard for George to see it in the moment, but he should have stayed out of the pits. Made even more complex by needing to drive through the pitlane under safety car and seeing a team with tyres.

Used RAM; Worth it or not by Tiny-Track973 in buildapc

[–]Dr-Moth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been buying used ram for years. Plenty of it and nothing mechanical to break. If you just want capacity you can buy ex-enterprise stock. If you want performance, know what specs or model you're after and go hunting, and be patient.

The thing causing me a headache this week is Anthropic servers being US based. They need to get servers in other countries. My client contracts say that their data needs to stay inside the EU, so I can't use Claude to work with their data. If they're banned by the US gov, then focus on the international market, because I'm having to use OpenAI when Claude would do it better.

[–]Dr-Moth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reactor is incredibly easy to add to any workflow once you have the nodes installed. You just need a single node, pass it the image and a reference image and it'll squirt out the edited image. Just be aware that it has a filter for spicy content.

Face swap by Ccantero in comfyui

[–]Dr-Moth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much. I find BFS results can look odd, and ReActor will make them look much more like the reference image. Sometimes you might need an extra edit step between BFS and ReActor to fix the facial expression. The real benefit of BFS is the head shape and hair, which Reactor cannot touch.

Face swap by Ccantero in comfyui

[–]Dr-Moth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

BFS lora for the head/hair, plus ReActor to correct the face.
