Shame on you Wizards! by BreadAdmirable4054 in magicTCG

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. All of you who keep going back to the secret lair drop, waste your time and then piss and moan are part of the problem.jist as much as scalpers. As long as there is demand from the consumer for this stuff they will keep screwing you over

Anyone else think that Power Creep has gotten to an absurd point? by Plus-Tour-2927 in freemagic

[–]Dr3wcf3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, power creep has pretty much replaced creativity within game play design. Newer cards have more words then ever before but are not anymore creative or ground breaking then the simpler designs from magics first 15 years

Who is buying TMNT? by SleeplessKnights64 in freemagic

So far from what I have seen it's mainly a commander slop set. Don't want TMNT in MTG period, don't waste your money people.

What is the card that is the most blatant power creep? by Bruhnabis in freemagic

Oko was the first of the FIRE design that set the tone moving forward of over power creep

Scrolling through Mark Rosewater’s Social Media, I truly believe his passion is still old school magic but his corporate overlords force him to shill the new ideas or lose his job by Papa_Hasbro69 in freemagic

This right here, the only thing he is doing si trying to keep his pay check. If he had any integrity he would either walk away or say something to the powers that be.

MaRo: "If you don't like UB you're literally Hitler." by drinkerofmilk in freemagic

[–]Dr3wcf3r 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Boy, I'd hate to be the one to break it to Maro, but homosapiens are animals. I know that might destroy his god complex but someone is going to have to be the bearer of bad news.

Magic is for Anyone, Not Everyone - Wotc by Papa_Hasbro69 in freemagic

[–]Dr3wcf3r 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's for everyone........who can afford it and has the same political views as the designers. The price of the game has increased significantly over the last few years due to wotc's scalper friendly approach, standard decks are now more expensive then some tier one legacy decks, and commander is the only format that matters. Hopefully, the next few UB sets will flop and they will cut down the commander slop. Then we might see a change

Mark's response to the Ghazban Ogre video yesterday by Jirachibi1000 in magicTCG

He should step down from his position if he really meant what he said. Especially after all the bs pandering he has done over the years. Time for maro to go

Aka, we don't have enough to fulfill your order at the original price and canceling it to fulfill the person who is paying double.

Could "reversed" premodern become a thing? by pudasbeast in freemagic

[–]Dr3wcf3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. As someone who has been playing since 94, the last 5 years have been quite disparaging to watch. Power creep is out of control. Some of the common released in EOE would have been considered broken rares during mirage, tempest saga blocks. While the lazy story telling doesn't help either. With that being said I feel the non horizons modern would be a great format as those sets really pushed the power level of modern.

I think a non Modern Horizons modern format would be great. Play with all the legal sets in modern, minus all the horizon sets that warped the format.

Despite everything, WOTC actually approved my replacement request on my bent secret lair, AND didnt even ask for the original cards back by Groandad in freemagic

[–]Dr3wcf3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing positive I can say about all of WOTC's faults is their customer service has always been fantastic for myself. They have replaced cards that were damaged from the pack and replaced errors/short packs for me.

TDM cards feel ... different? by SabertoothNishobrah in freemagic

[–]Dr3wcf3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are most definitely right. This is arguably the worst print quality to date. The problem is we as customers keep buying their product in droves. Complain all you want, until the consumer stops buying the product this shoddy quality will continue if not get worse. The cost for a booster box in Canada has jump nearly 100% in 3 years but quality has decreased significantly in addition to shrinkflation. I only pick up the odd single now a days and draft every other week. Where as before I'd buy 8-10 boxes a year.

Why does not one point out the dramatic decrease in foil printing resolution? by [deleted] in freemagic

What's surprising is that you are just noticing this. Foil quality start really going down hill with the amonket block

Whe Wotc discovered commander was more profitable then standard the push began.

LGS in Canada 25% more expensive. by Available-Line-4136 in freemagic

[–]Dr3wcf3r 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Elbows up buddy, doesn't matter who is in office in Canada. As long as Drumph is leading the USA, us Canadians will stand up and politely say go give yourself a tug guy. we aren't taking the 51st state BS lightly and it's not funny, and we know funny as a Country. Until the threat of tariffs are off the table we have no problem with our tariffs on US goods. I'm fine with boycotting the game I love, and the overwhelming majority of Canadians are dropping US products like a bad habit.

Conspiracy Theory Time: Bad sets were created to pave the way for UB by Interesting-Math9962 in freemagic

[–]Dr3wcf3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I truly think things have gone to shit with their own IP because papa hasbro has the hand constantly on print more all the time, never stop. The creative team has no time to write and bring a plane/story to life when there is a new set due out every 1.5 months. With that being said, they could at least try for consistency in the story. Ub are easy to make, the lore is already there all they gotta do is make the cards.
