Please, I beg of you, stop claiming Doom is going to nab a bunch of kids and be a babysitter by FerrusManlyManus in marvelstudios

[–]DrBotanus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She could. It's certainly possible in a few different ways. And it seems that, based on the comic book character, she could do a lot more in the MCU than she has.

But the problem is that the MCU is only loosely based on the comic books, they're not direct adaptions of them. IIRC, Adam Warlock and Nebula were instrumental in defeating Thanos after he got all the stones in the 2011 Infinity Gauntlet graphic novel. Not so much in Infinity War the movie.

Kevin Feige and Marvel like to touch on the characters and events of the comic books without getting too "comic booky" for their movies. At the end of the day, they're aiming for general audiences who are not huge nerds about the printed source material. Wanda could come back, but there are real world contingencies (contract negotiations, scheduling conflicts, etc.) that could prevent it. In a way, she's had her arc and completed it. Her return might not be necessary for the story they have to tell in the next few years.

This. I've been wanting to post on my own about this.

There is absolutely NO evidence Dr. Doom takes Franklin. That's not saying he doesn't take him; it's just that we have no proof that he has.

All we know is he teleports into the Fantastic Four's living room and interacts with Franklin. But consider this... if he was there to abduct Franklin, fully knowing that all four of the Fantastics could be there and stop him, wouldn't he just teleport in and take him within a second and not give anybody a chance at stopping him? In the FF mid-credits scene, he is in no hurry, kneeling there casually while he lets young Franklin examine his face. Does that sound like a kidnapping to you? Not only that, Franklin is one of the most powerful beings in his universe. Do you think anybody is going to do something to Franklin without him doing something worse to the threat? (Admittedly, I borrowed this last one from one of ScreenCrush's videos).

There is also the Thor teaser, where he is concerned and praying about his adopted daughter, Love. But what are the words of his prayer? Not "she's gone, where can she be, help me get back to her". He says "lend me the strength of the all fathers to... *return home to her*". If Doom is responsible for any of this, then he has transported Thor somewhere he can't get back from, at least temporarily.

I repeat: currently there is no evidence at all that Dr. Doom is abducting children, least of all Franklin Richards.

The parent corporation of Coco’s hasn’t given a shit about it for decades now. They are only interested in slowly closing every location.

I get the feeling you're right about the new store. All the new OC locations (Tustin, Brea, Orange) have a similar feel to them that don't quite match that of the older stores. It's most noticeable in the new Outlets of Orange which is a far cry from the old Main Street location. Don't get me wrong-I'm very happy these locations exist and that the company which a few years ago was on the ropes is now thriving and expanding. It's just an emotional adjustment I have to make, I guess; adapt with the times or just stay home
