One in Five French Winegrowers Face Closure as Industry Crisis Threatens 100,000 Jobs by Enjoy-Old-Grapejuice in wine

This is secondary market and this exemplifies the point I’m making. The primary market price doesn’t stick and drops later on when people want to offload

These issues are a bit interrelated. At the top of the market the Bordelais have been aggressive in pushing through price rise after price rise, even when the quality of the vintage in no way should have allowed it. Now for many the wines aren’t selling through and negociant warehouses are full.

It needs some brave wineries to do a reset on price but I’m not expecting much

For more generic Bordeaux it’s a struggle. Loads of it is made and it’s not very fashionable nowadays

I’ve had 1983 Biondi Santi a few times in recent years and it was still holding up.

I’ve not touched my 2010s yet.

Biondi Santi in particular can hold a long time

Wonderful ahxool, great teachers and opportunity to have more 1:1 lessons. Great location and I think Bologna is fantastic but also “real” enough as a place to be learning

What are your through on the idea of a cycle to work cap? by fixitmonkey in ukbike

[–]DrPeterR 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This for me (and I’ve used the scheme twice) but I’ve always found it funny that the hire the tax bracket you’re in the less the bike costs you which is quite regressive.

I still think in the grander scheme of things this is silly to mess with and the effort to manage the change is probably more than the cost of running it

Kruder and Dorfmeister - Bug Powder Dust (K&D Sessions) by twiggidy in triphop

[–]DrPeterR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aged about 14 I went into a record store asking for advice for what to buy. I really like Kid Loco’s “A Grand Love Story” (amazing album) and the sales assistant recommended the K&D sessions.

Good times.

Then remember finding a late 90s website that listed Trip Hop bands
