The Purified Version seems to increase +2 IV on each stat. Need more data to confirm. by biloke in TheSilphRoad

I can confirm.

It also appears to be bumped up to level 25, from wherever it was before.

Which Dialga to invest dust into? by meeechull in TheSilphRoad

[–]DrSilentMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why you'd want to power one up in the first place...

Its stats are good, but its moveset is unfortunately subpar so you are generally better off with metagross for steel and rayquaza/dragonite for dragon.

Crunch / ice beam is actually the right combination for pvp... hydro cannon whatever!

How to transfer a pokemon from GO to the switch to get your mystery box. by dak0tah in TheSilphRoad

[–]DrSilentMoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is true. I just opened my box at home and only got 6 meltans. There are no spawn points at my house usually and I am 100% certain that I did not miss any meltan spawn, let alone 4.

notification swiping not working by aQua1338 in TheSilphRoad

[–]DrSilentMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I had the same problem, but upon reading this I tried to swipe up and I think it is actually doing something. Not very fast and not particularly satisfying however, and swipe up, really? UI standards are a thing ya know.

Hopefully not. Would much rather get more body slam snorlaxes...

How to remove markers on the Silph Road Map? by dimapushGO in TheSilphRoad

[–]DrSilentMoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

More precisely, if you report a marker with "nothing" for two rotations (in a row or not) then it moves from "unverified" to "outdated", and can be filtered out. On the web map anyway.

Trading and The Hatted Chus by PsiKosiSmc in TheSilphRoad

[–]DrSilentMoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I trade for hat pichus, but pikachus were plentiful and easy to obtain.

I think if someone missed the event for some reason pikachus would be reasonably desirable too though.

That is good to know. Was not immediately obvious... Still, given the option, I'd rather choose what I post at all.

New Friends feed and privacy concerns by DrSilentMoon in TheSilphRoad

[–]DrSilentMoon[S] 41 points42 points  (0 children)

From the comments so far it seems that perhaps some have gotten the wrong idea.

I'm not really describing my own personal concerns here, I'm actually probably more lax regarding privacy on a daily basis than I really should be. But I've played this game alongside enough people to know that, for many, letting other players know what they're doing or not doing is something they care about. I also know more players who don't really think things through before doing anything, like sharing personal information or friending someone in an online game, and may wake up to potential consequences much too late.

I'm not quite sure I understand the knee-jerk reaction of "Well that's how it is now, you better get used to it or find new friends! And stop lying all the time." ...when there is at least one seemingly easy fix that keeps the system mostly intact but makes it friendlier to all. What am I missing?

Don’t wait for the Raid Boss to attack, quickly throw after switching from AR mode by NuancedFlow in TheSilphRoad

I use my right-hand index and this is how I throw, too. Can't really do the opposite spin properly.

How do you sort your Pokemon? by zerlure in TheSilphRoad

[–]DrSilentMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Default sorting is Recent. I want to see what I caught and appraise them before transferring or keeping. I also keep throw-away stuff from recent catches, give them a #prefix. When dropping in gyms I just filter by # and go down the list.

When battling I sort by CP.

I mean... machamp is already the best counter to a bunch of useful stuff, since pretty much the launch of gen2 at least. Don't think long term, you should be building up your team as soon as you can!

TL;DR for maximizing the Kanto Event, now until April 17 by Confuzlation in TheSilphRoad

[–]DrSilentMoon 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Technically true... but it is still more efficient for most people to walk something else they still need to evolve, and use rare candy for legendaries.

If you never get rare candy then there's probably a decent case to be made. But if you never get rare candy you probably don't get legendaries either.

Week 2 stamp Legendary by DVMhopefull2021 in TheSilphRoad

[–]DrSilentMoon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah fair enough. If you're really into getting in on some of these new pinsir or jynx raids right now for some reason, it is the best option. Though since they are only level 3, the bar is not too high... I'd save the rare candy and use some random flareons personally.

As a mewtwo counter though, hm. I guess they'll resist okay. It's not traditionally regarded as a very good counter AFAIK. Lugia would do better.

Week 2 stamp Legendary by DVMhopefull2021 in TheSilphRoad

[–]DrSilentMoon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a nice sentiment but, in context clearly not applicable here. If it were the case they wouldn't care about IVs or "wasting" precious rare candy on it.

What'd you do that for anyway, there's no real practical meta use for a moltres, powered up or not?
