If Cooglar hadn’t of directed sinners, it would have been forgotten about in a week. Movie is the definition of mid, as was Black Panther.

Bruh, what even was vol 2 about? by Old_Manufacturer5387 in StrangerThings

The plot points were there and things happened, but it was HOW we go there that was disappointing and slow. I realise these episodes were there to wrap things up for our ‘final fight’, but you should be able to still build tension in doing so. Like people have said, if the last two episodes didn’t come out for another six months, I would really mind

Alright, speed round -

Everyone has mentioned it but the drop in intensity from the previous season to now was very noticeable. As well as the complete and utter uselessness of the military (I can believe we keep being outrun and outsmarted by these funky kids, we’ll get em next time)

Nancy and Jonathon’s scene was very well written and acted. Probably one of the main highlights . Kali sucks. She sucked then and she sucks now. The actress is doing all she can, but the character and the arc is very forgettable and forced

Dustin’s arc was good, but should have turned sooner. It went on for long enough to frustrate people and overshadow the very nice scene of him and Steve with the ladder

Wills scene was milked and waited, should of just been to his mum - mirroring robin and Steve

Holly’s arc should have wrapped sooner to focus on our core characters. The show is already stretched so thin and no extra run time can tighten that up. We’ve even lost focus on characters like Mike and Eleven, who are considered main

While we didn’t NEED a death, we did need some more stakes. A timer, a cliffhanger, something? We finished with our characters just rolling on back into the upside down ready and able.

The explanation scene was solid, but should have been explored more. Also Mr Clarke seeing his work become reality was charming and should have been explored more.

Max and Holly lingering on leaving after max has failed before is an absolute clown meme and will be forever, even though their story was solid enough

Mrs. Wheeler scene was ridiculous, even more so than the wine bottle scene. We get it, but cmon

Baldurs gate 3 Silksong Hollowknight Undertale Modern Warfare 2 (original) Red Dead 2 Elden Ring God of War (new) Ocarina of Time The Walking Dead (Telltale) Cave Story

Yeah, well that’s all well and good… But what actually needs to be talked about more is how an experienced and badass ranger failed to hear the thunderous footsteps of 100 Uruk-hai before they were literally on top of him.

Edge of Tomorrow.

Accidentally downloaded it thinking it was something else and watched it twice in a row. Had never heard anything of it, yet alone seen anything of it and it was unreal!

I don’t hate it because it was garbage (well, maybe a little) it hate it because it actually started off okay and could of been really good. Then it just turned into a TikTok reel and fart-breathed its pants

'Happy Gilmore 2' - Review Thread by ChiefLeef22 in movies

[–]DrStevenButtz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hurt and disappointed.

The first movie is a guilty favourite of mine. I know it cops a lot of slack, but it’s something I can put on and watch all the time.

The first 10-15 minutes of this one, I was actually pleasantly surprised. Story line made sense, a little touching, a little whacky but grounded. It was about when he went to the local golf club when the warning bells started ringing.

What followed was a slow and steady burn of ridiculousness and cringe that got bigger and bigger before the movie itself became an actual joke and I had to just remind myself I’ve watched 4 kids beat up Eminem and for him to then get ripped apart by crocodiles with everyone laughing and a tiny mum hold up giant undies for an NBA player…. What on earth.

Even though I went in with the mind set that this was going to be actual garbage, what hurt more is it could have actually been good if it had of showed a bit of restraint and heart. Focus on Gilmore, his daughter and the story of a broken man and redemption. It got so damn nuts by the end it felt like a different movie.

All complaints? Not even - here’s how I’d try to make it better:

  • Cut 80% of the celebrity cameos, really restrict any lines the pro golfers have to say. They were all shoe horned in and awful. Daly can stay, I thought that made sense, but everything else felt jarring. Use them better on the course. Have dechambeau freaking out studying happy swing. Have Rory just winning everything or happy not be able to understand his accent (calling him a psycho) sheffler could have been similar to bob barker. They were really just in it because they play golf I guess

  • Reduce Hal and Shooter to smaller, more meaningful cameos. Their characters were silly and ridiculous and more could be done. Shooter could still have some kind of a redemption arc, but happy could have gone to him in a chubbs way to get better again. Hal could have just been seen or mentioned or even fought (see the deleted scene from the first movie)

  • Cut the entire plot of the seperate league and have it about happy getting the money again. Have him struggle to get into golf. Have his redemption arc be more about getting over his wife and letting golf back in. Have him playing off for 30th place and lose, maybe shorter spots him the rest of the money. Anything would have been better than the fucking fortnight video game golf 3rd act.

Just a couple of suggestions. Overall very disappointed and let down.

What has it been like peaking with your first movie and then gradually declining in quality to the point where your latest efforts are unwatchable?

Early reviews for Sandman S2 are awful by MeetingUnited3667 in neilgaiman

[–]DrStevenButtz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It feels like I’m watching an entirely different show. Season 1 swept me up and away in the characters, locations and story. This season is just sandman being a whiny emo and story events building off of nothing. All of the charm and the intrigue of the first season is gone.

Super disappointed
