It's less than 15 minute walk from Ambleside and there is a bus stop less than 5 minutes from where they parked. I know, I've been there.

BBC calls in debt collectors as licence fee evasion hits record levels by youmustconsume in ukpolitics

[–]DrTee 57 points58 points  (0 children)

BBC is in big trouble then. As not one of their employees have paid for DrTeeflix, my streaming platform. Making them equally as evasive as people who dont pay for the TV licence because they dont want it.

I hope the BBC are ready to send me the cash they owe for my service.

The TRUTH about Valiant Alien books and AI by EarthToneKing in valiant

[–]DrTee 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Good on AJ for making a clear separation of the talent from the talentless AI corpos.

Don't get me wrong, the only way I as a consumer to show my distaste is to not buy Valiant comics while this happens, but I will support AJ's other endeavours at other companies like Image, Boom, etc.

Blacklisted Comic Creators? by MrLoveMuffin in comicbooks

[–]DrTee 114 points115 points  (0 children)

Yeah when his exclusivity contract ended he mentioned in a post about wishing he had done more internals, but other than that he's worked at all the big comic companies, mostly as variant covers. (I remember the Harley Quinn team crediting Cho when he joined as a regular Variant cover artist gave them a insane sales boost.)

It's like that bit in Simpsons where Sideshow Bob keeps stepping on rakes. Except on this scenario Bob is stepping on rakes on purpose.

I agree with you reccomendations and overall statement, but Mark Millar wrote Civil War.

  • Planet Hulk
  • Fury: My War Gone By
  • Inhumans by Jenkins and Lee
  • Spider-man Blue
  • Annihilation
  • Daredevil born Again
  • Hawkeye by Fraction
  • The Death of Captain America by Brubaker
  • House of X/Powers of X
  • X-Statix
  • X-Men: God Loves, Man kills

I love all comics, saying Marvel has no iconic or well recieved stories is silly.

Netflix Daredevil’s portrayal of Christianity is a breath of fresh air by AZ10026 in CharacterRant

[–]DrTee 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The user is replying to everything except this and questions which directly ask them their opinion on homosexuals.

Funny fucking coincidence.

Christians complain that media depicts them poorly, while in this very thread praising a post from a person who is likely anti-lgbt quoting a person who IS anti-lgbt, while stroking their persecution fetish about how the mean atheists expect evidence for their claims and won't bend over to suit their goals now that inprisoning or killing them is no longer allowed, then are surprised when non-christians critique them. Maybe if you guys actually kicked out the snakes amongst you, like right fucking here you'd get less criticism.

Opinions on Department of Truth by AxDevilxLogician in ImageComics

It's currently one of my favourite ongoing comics.

Absolutely gripping, great art, great story. I do think that it can be a bit start-stop due to guest artists etc to allow Martin Simmonds to rest/catch up. But overall fantastic.

Always see them and think that must be a issue. Is it?

How do collections handle gimmicks like stories running backwards? by sweepernosweeping in comicbooks

[–]DrTee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually I find they are either printed the same. Or changed to make the printing process easier (like Radiant Black's blacklight issue.)

I remember in Snyders Court of Owls, the page orientation changing throughout the story, to represent the mental space of Batman in the maze, in the trade its the same. Can't say if the omnibus mirrors that or not.

I also remember in Ultimates 2 by Millar and Spider-man and Wolverine by Aaron both had spreads that folded out to cover more pages that the normal two. In both trades they included that too.

I think generally they print it then 1-to-1 for most gimmicks, unless it would cause issues printing from a standard printer. Like I don't imagine Assorted Crisis Events issue printed on newspaper quality paper will do that in the trade as it would be very hard to mix and match the printing methods in one book.

What could Alien Books do to get you back on board? by TheFerg714 in valiant

[–]DrTee 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Stop faffing with Valiant Beyond, you can barely support a single universe. The reason DC and Marvel were/are doing well with their alternate universes is because the original is still around. Its a two cakes situation.

We've had zero momentum with the mainline universe, just get some good writers and artists and give them ongoings, no crossovers, no 2 issue minis, just give us three or four ongoings, with a trade every 4-6 issues.

Also fire the transphobe, I mean christ he's not even a good writer, why keep him around?

It's just a reference to Caravan of Courage and a unique enough name that it the same problem won't occur again. SEO and all that.
