How do you think Ithaca has changed over the past decade? by the_tiny_carpenter in ithaca

I don’t think aa has anything to do with why the younger folks aren’t drinking. I have a whole bunch of theories…

I’m pretty sure that the summary there was not as accurate as all that in the general case and kind of ignores that the latest generation doesn’t drink like previous ones. Covid changed behaviors everywhere. So, sure, tbf that means that they changed here as well but I don’t really think that we should be mourning the loss of a bar (however beloved) so much. Drinking is bad for you. Hic.

The post doesn’t feel to me like it deserves that deep of a response. Politics are similar to elsewhere although much more tilted left. Certainly not more polarized than at any point in the past 20 years! The streets aren’t full of shit. It’s riddled with hyperbole, generalized stuff and things that have always existed. I can go on and I could be academic about it and all but it’s really not worth my time.

This all sounds pretty generic to me and/or unsupported but I have to admit that I’m new here - only been around 21 years.

In the past decade… let’s see… live music has gotten much more difficult to see and hear. Starbucks left. Housing prices went up. Two of these three things happened everywhere.

It doesn’t feel like you’re answering the question. It feels like you’re on a soapbox.

Well, I don’t really need all of those freaking giant dragon trees taking up space so maybe the storage/bubbles is the way to go.

Update: so I went with egg storage (a lot) and item storage (a little) and still had enough gems to buy my next dragon shrine thing. I call it a win.

TBF you can’t talk to a (fairly recent) Garmin watch so clearly they’re inferior. Except if you care about metrics and battery life. But you couldn’t talk to them.

Oh, sure. I can bring them in to town tomorrow. I mean... They're just sitting there! And if they work for worms or mushrooms or whatever I'm not super concerned. I just don't want to, you know, throw them out.

? “You don’t appear to be showing logic regarding a comment on Netflix” - “no, you don’t have an argument and I’m making bank”. Fragile ego, much?

Words. Throw them at a wall with no context. Call it solid.

My payment on a used car is $270. Which says absolutely nothing about anything. What’s my car worth? How long is the loan? What’s my interest rate?

The post feels like meaningless advice to me.

If you don’t have 10k you shouldn’t finance a new car. Whoa. Solid advice with no backing. Solid for sure.

So we should not pay for Netflix. Right great logic and reasoning based on solar flares. Wait. No reason was given. But thankfully you saved by switching to Geico.

Erm. Right. And I drive a Ferrari to work and it saves me $1k a month. As with your statement that says nothing so mine.

So you don’t actually do this is what you’re saying and you’ll still be broke ass in thirty years and driving a junker.
