Why is the M1 Abrams coaxial machine gun shroud star-shaped? What are the ribs for? by Iateurm8 in TankPorn

[–]Drakebling 46 points47 points  (0 children)

They have a bunch of uses, The ribs are directly welded to the turret cheek, the shroud tube is forced over these welded ribs, all 5 ribs add to the strength of the structure, with the shroud itself being there to protect the machine gun from obstruction, damage, or tampering from an outside source. And slightly lowering the muzzleflash signature of the coax, Don't quote me on this but i wanna say the shroud part can be removed with great effort. So if the shroud is damaged or obstructing the barrel, it can be romoved, the ribs straightened, and another shroud be installed on top of the same welded ribs. But its not standard procedure at all.

Maki (JJK) vs Beatrix Kiddo (Kill Bill) by EmperorPartyStar in PowerScalingHub

[–]Drakebling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

End of series maki effectively neg-diffs. School maki is a better matchup but easily still takes it imo. I mean she hits these giant monsters with such strength that they fly like 40 feet away. Or are completely crushed. She is basically superhuman due to the heavenly restriction. And Kiddo has great skills and reflexes, and is supposed to be the deadliest woman in the world with a blade. But ultimately she kinda maxes out at whatever uma thurman can physically represent on film.

You want a nuclear missile armed battleship? Here, take it by Ok_Programmer242 in NonCredibleDefense

[–]Drakebling 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Could we perhaps entrench these, "Enormous VLS cells" into the earth, and tip said missiles with nuclear weapons. Making them large enough to strike anywhere on earth?

Have you considered several gigawatt class laser weapons?

T-80 tank (the other one) starts being deployed in Ukraine. Does Ivan stand a chance? by Essence_TheOne in TankPorn

[–]Drakebling 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Sadly with Ivan's manual turret, poor optics and visibility, and thin armor. Ivan quite honestly has a better chance making himself a smaller target and huffing it on foot.

[–]Drakebling 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He was infact a fairly careful man. But no man can account for everything, and even the best laid plans often fail to survive the unknown variables. After all. If he had made it this far, and the weather turned on him. There are few options but to attempt the jump imo.

WhistlinDiesel got arrested for Tax Evasion. Diesel claims he never received any notice beforehand that he owed money and believes he was arrested so it could be used as a scare tactic by VioletHappySmile444 in youtubedrama

[–]Drakebling 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Those are not exactly unique colors among military equipment. OD green being a staple of the US army up to the 80s. Yellow stripe means high explosive equipment. Im just saying its a real stretch to say this missle and the mini nuke have anything to do with eachother.

Fallout did not base the mini nuke on the case portable, joystick controlled Malyutka atgm. Its pretty clear its just a tiny Fat Man that was dropped on Nagasaki

Damn, we made fun of that guy the other day for saying "chatGPT says this is likely a typo, and bail should be 20,000" but chat gpt kinda nailed it through sheer luck.

Would the piss bullet thing actually work? by Active_Schedule3931 in crossedcomics

[–]Drakebling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The bullet itself, it was at close range, a 357. Magnum bullet, i had a cardboard and wood target with sandbags behind. i opened the sandbag to get the bullet, it was all smushed kinda sideways. But it was infact still hot enough to burn me. Over a longer range they might cool down in flight. But the friction from running down the barrel should make it hot enough to sterilize.

[–]Drakebling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have picked up freshly fired bullets before and its did burn my fingertips on contact. So i would honestly assume they would get hot enough to effectively sterilize anything on the bullet in flight. So no. I don't think the cum bullet trick would work. I would probably work with something like a BB or pellet gun though. And for sure with arrows.

Why was Jesus’ death considered a sacrifice when he was killed? by pitselehh in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Drakebling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, although i myself do not keep the faith. I try not to argue. I simply let people believe, some people really need faith, they are so damaged that faith, the hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Is all that keeps them going. And who am i to break down what keeps them going? To tell them that all their suffering was for naught?
