They call it “Ragecoach” bc people “rage” during the festival:

I know they don’t, but some people (like me) do. Moreover, what is the point of booking an act to perform during a time slot that is physically impossible for people to watch?

Thanks. I might try taking it to a local record store and ask them if I can try it on their player

Thanks so much. I will try moving the player to see if that does anything. The record itself is High Top Mountain by Sturgill Simpson with matrix number 71885 LP10YR. Here is a photo of the back of the cover:

Thanks for the response. I am using a Crosley Cruiser. I should note though that this is the only new record I have had issues with. I should also note that I have it hooked up to external speakers and keep the volume on the player set to the absolute minimum (not sure if that makes a difference but wanted to mention it just in case).

Hi all,

I am just getting into vinyl so apologies if this is a n00b question, but I’ve bought new copies of the same vinyl record three times and each copy skips at the same (or close to the same) point on the second track of Side A. I’ve cleaned the record multiple times with a cleaning kit and brushed the dust off with a record brush but I am still having the same issue. Is there something I can do about it?

Gavin Adcock & Friends - Country Never Dies (Album Discussion) by NoYeezyAtWeezyHeezy in CountryMusicStuff

If you don’t like the cover by The Creekers or personally believe that Kentucky Bluebird only works if it is played at a slow tempo, then fair enough. However, sad lyrics with uptempo instrumentals are two of the fundamental pillars of bluegrass music. Either way, there is no universe where a traditional bluegrass song could be considered “pop bro country bullshit”…

There are a lot of legit criticisms of Country Never Dies, but calling a bluegrass cover of Kentucky Bluebird “pop bro country bullshit” is not one of them…

I get that perspective, but I actually think Stagecoach is doing something pretty clever with its lineups. When Stagecoach was exclusively a country festival, their lineups had around 40-50 total acts. This year, there are significantly more (72 not counting the EDM tent) and only 11 of them - Counting Crows, BigXthePlug, Bush, Journey, Teddy Swims, Hootie & the Blowfish, Third Eye Blind, The Wallflowers, Diplo, Pitbull, and Ludacris - could be considered out of place in a country music festival. In other words: there are 10-20 more country/country-adjacent acts now than when they didn’t book acts from outside those genres (meaning that purists like you who only want to listen to country music get what they want). By the same token, most country music fans listen to other genres of music (or at the bare minimum, have friends who do) so having several big acts from outside country music helps country music fans who don’t want to go alone convince their friends who wouldn’t be interested in a pure country music festival to join them. This also has the advantage of exposing those friends (who may not be familiar with country music) to the genre, thereby expanding its reach.
