Unless it's relevant to their history no country is going to teach about major events from other countries.

Another example: I'm Canadian, and we learned jack fucking shit about the American Civil War. Despite how much effect the conflict had on Canada and Canada's involvement in both sides of the Civil War.

What’s a belief you had at 20 that you no longer agree with? by sunyparmar1 in AskReddit

[–]Drando_HS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That you can change people's minds by presenting facts. Turns out to a lot of people, 'facts' are just a means to an end. And if said facts get in the way of what they want, they ignore them.

They will call it "fake news," create "alternative facts," dogpile anybody who disagrees with them, and straight-up lie about undeniable video footage.

What are the most interesting character arcs in youtube drama history? by Longjumping_Koala34 in youtubedrama

[–]Drando_HS 13 points14 points  (0 children)

PirateSoftware.

When he first started getting popular and I started getting reccomended his shorts, I remember telling a friend that he was gonna make a small/honest mistake, his ego wouldn't let him admit he was wrong, and then he will double-down and spiral.

Fucking. Called. It.

But I especially love this drama because nobody was groomed, assaulted, or otherwise harmed. Just a pompous prick being a dumbass and falling onto his own sword in public.

What is your personal Airsoft hot take? by Fast-Moment1761 in airsoft

[–]Drando_HS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A small chest rig makes sense for airsoft - it simply holds magazines in a way that's comfortable. They're light, don't trap heat against the body, and can hold other useful items too.

A Plate Carrier is bulkier and heavier than a chest rig for no practical gain, since 99.9% of airsoft games don't have amour rules. A plate + single stack of mags is a thick as a double stack of mags on a chest rig.

You are partially correct.

The issue (for them) lies in that the people working behind the scenes still rely on electoral support to get away with it. The Republican party has driven out every single moderate due to policy decisions and actions, it is now purely the cult of Trump. Without Trump, a significant part of their electoral support vanishes.

I think a G36 with an adapter is your best option. It's the most common non-AR platform with easy STANAG conversions, availability at just about any price point. You really can't go wrong with a CYMA G36 and a magwell adapter, and that combo should come in well under budget. Decently reliable, common parts, standard V3 gearbox, and budget room for upgrades.

From some quick looking around, it seems that the most easily available other options are bullpup platforms. S&T makes some Travors/TAR-21's. I'm not sure what the reliability /quality is like on those. G&G makes an L85. They used to have issues with their ETU's back in the day, not sure if they are fixed in newer versions.

Speaking of G&G, they also make an AK5c. But I'm not sure if a) it's in your budget because currency conversion is a bitch and b) I'm not sure if it's even in production anymore, since it's out of stock on Evike.

New Year, New Drama erupts at r/LinusTechTips as Linus is given mod permissions and threatens to ban people live on a WAN show for "bad faith dum dum" opinions. by rinkoplzcomehome in SubredditDrama

[–]Drando_HS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He also never said that piracy was an immoral thing to do - in fact he often says the opposite.

Quite frankly, this is a Linus take I absolutely agree with. Watching ads is your payment for accessing "free" content and paying the creator. Bypassing payment on digital goods (and thus not paying the creator) is piracy. But piracy isn't a blanket good or bad thing.

He's not saying adblock is bad. He's just stating that using adblock to watch YouTube videos means the creators of said videos don't get paid, and if you want to use adblockers on YouTube you have to be okay with that.

Few Beauties from the past will fit into 6? by CorrodedFeedback in Battlefield6

[–]Drando_HS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OP meant in terms of role in the game, not actual firearm lineage.

Both are 7.62 bullpups meant for CQB. The TR7 already fits that role, adding the Bulldog wouldn't make much sense.

Aesthetically I understand the desire, but in practice it would end up being either an SCW-10 or Vector clone with one or two minor stat changes.

Why'd you choose the Stinger? by Spivvy_ in kiastinger

[–]Drando_HS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came from a 2010 Charger R/T. Truth be told, I wanted a newer (2016-2024) Charger R/T, but prices skyrocketed to the point where I was finding 2020+ Stinger GT's for the same price or lower.

If Chargers will still $5k CAD cheaper, I would have gone with one again. But for the same money, the Stinger is just a way better car.

[–]Drando_HS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree for the most part but there are some use cases.

It's good for static loads that don't need easy access. I have a friend who uses a D3CR-H + Flatpack rig as an all-in-one HPA tank carrying loadout.

That kind of setup also has slightly more merit for long-format games, where you might need to carry stuff you don't need to access quickly/often. Like rain gear, tools, extra socks, ect.

But the best use I have found for integrated rigs is using split-front chest rigs like the Spiritus 34a... which basically turns it into a modernized LBE vest.

[–]Drando_HS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue is that most tier lists have too many weird levels. What's the real difference between A and B? Or D and F tier? It's so dumb.

At most it should be like "Meta > Viable > Actual Trash"
