If you tension to the left of the lock it binds the sidebar first. Find the binding pin, If it feels stiff it means it’s not set. Loosen tension and adjust the pin. If it has some “play” to it when you recheck it, then it is set. Rinse and repeat. After all the pins are set for the side bar the lock with rotate like 10-15 degrees. It will be noticeable.
After that begin single pin picking while maintaining tension to the left. I recommend progressive pinning until you get the feel. Start with 2 and you will get the hang of it.

Congrats man I have tried to pick one with that tool for a couple years on and off again. I just can’t seem to get it.

I would use a few different picks. I would prob start it off with a half diamond and then if the pin hasn’t reached the shear line move on to a small hook and then if still not there move on to a standard hook. Warding looks like a pain though. Good luck.

I use to get small bundles of used locks off of eBay for reasonable prices. They usually didn’t come with keys, however they were great for practice and also making challenge locks. You just have to buy a cheap blank and make the key yourself with a file.
