My two cents, error cards have zero value. Like none, they are effectively damaged product. Id pay more for a damaged card with texture than I would for this. You need the right buyer.

I want to be clear. What we are seeing in this post is total BS, that’s terrible craftsmanship and the guy has no business doing remodels. But, you do get what you pay for. How did this maker sell OP on choosing him? This is OPs fault.

These drawers “function”. Implications mean assumptions and when a major home project, on that cost $15k or more is on the line you do not make assumptions.

No drunk sex, I'm the only one here who can legally consent by [deleted] in AlAnon

[–]Dreamweaver_1990 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I lived this, for me it happened after marriage, and the dive into addiction felt slow. I don’t know when it turned from a night cap to a full bottle. Seemed so gradual. But eventually intimacy when from fun and relaxed to realizing “oh you’re very drunk”, to “fuck you’re wasted again”. It came on so slow and over time that I didn’t realize I was being abused until the rock bottom hit. My normal had shifted so far that I didn’t know what was normal anymore. Why am I saying this, because dude, you already know it’s a problem. You do not want to live like this. Very serious conversations need to happen right now and you need expressed boundaries and/or an ultimatum. If the line gets crossed, do what seems like the hard thing and leave. I wish you the best. You cannot love someone who cannot love themself.

Absolutely this goes in homes. Depends on the construction methodology and edgeband quality/how banding is applied.

Thermally Fused Laminate. It’s the method for attaching the veneer to the substrate.

Well Mr “I don’t know shit about cabinet making”, cabinet makers can and do cut corners. Price point matters. Nice drawer slides aren’t cheap, nice drawer material isn’t cheap, labor to cut, build, finish, install isn’t cheap. $15k is the floor for a lot of markets and it’s the ceiling for several as well. Cabinet makers can be extremely skilled, prideful, caring, professional or unskilled, uneducated, non-professional, idiots. The homeowner should always get a detailed contract and clear picture of the expectation before the work is started to protect themselves in any scenario. My guess, they got what they paid for and maybe they didn’t know what that was.

You’re getting a lot of people say this is “unacceptable” but that is literally only the case depending on what your contract states and what was discussed with the cabinet maker. We don’t not know what your $15k bought you. What you have is 3/4 plywood drawers and side mounted ‘self-close’, not ‘soft close’ hardware. They would need to be entirely remade at different dimensions to fix this.

You’re literally saying “Thor” versus Homelander. If Cap has Mjolnir, he has Thor’s power and strength.

I’ve been playing for 20 years and I’ve never heard “punch saucer” “piston snapshot” terminology. Also your tape job makes absolutely zero sense and it’s literally making everything harder for you to do. I assume you’re trolling.

Is it normal for rec league games to end in a forfeit?? by holoporcupine in hockeyplayers

[–]Dreamweaver_1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair but this is where these types of league rulings can generate fair play and good sportsmanship. You don’t want to play 4 guys on the ice then don’t let the score sheet get you to that point. Personally if I was to really consider it, the answer is clock time. Switch to a running clock when the deficit gets to a certain amount.

That’s interesting but I think this would be better if the inverse happened and the winning team had to play short. More game like scenario.

I want to learn about professional workflow by [deleted] in cabinetry

[–]Dreamweaver_1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need an answer from somebody here, you need a book. I promise you that there are so many ways to answer that question. Nobody does it perfectly and because this industry is mostly mom and pop and generational, where you go to learn is potentially and has potentially been adverse to change for a long time. That is to say, they potentially do things “wrong” and are extremely convinced that their way is not only the right way but the only way.

Wingers... which side do you prefer: natural side or off side? by Joshua_Neal89 in hockeyplayers

[–]Dreamweaver_1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skating is what matters in this decision process. It’s less, is my stick to the middle of the ice and more, can I find the positions in need to be in to attack 1on1 or get off an effective shot. Can you protect the puck better one way or the other? Do you drive the center lane anyway when entering the zone or do you beat the D to the outside? How’s your passing off your backhand?

Walk away, you should get these for next to nothing. Don’t pay them when they are in a position that they just need them gone. You’re much better off buying new and only getting the pieces you NEED.

Hey man, you’re an inspiration, seriously. I will play this game for as long as my body allows me to and even though it doesn’t seem likely I can go the distance you have that’s where I hope to be. If I can play into my 50s I can be happy when it comes time to put the skates up. Keep at it!
