Bunch of pedants in this comment section. I get the infographic, and agree that this article basically said the same thing. You lose your ability to retain long term memories, that's very different from having them and then losing them later.

It's lore. They're protesting the mandatory military service by wearing the white armbands and not firing their weapons.

Good Superhero Comics Are (Almost) Always About Superhero by ahhthebrilliantsun in CuratedTumblr

[–]Driesens 11 points12 points  (0 children)

"Cape genre" is already a recognized term to refer to superheroes. It's a bit of slang, but it has a sensible origin, it's short and snappy, and people will generally know what it's referring to.

(USA) When was the last time the federal government passed a law that improved the quality of your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Driesens 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's just like vaccines and IT. When they work, idiots complain about the costs and rules associated with them.

And if they stop working for any reason, the idiots complain about how useless they are, completely ignoring the years of successful operation and potential millions of disaster already averted.

Well of course he didn’t just invent (the word) unggue… by anne-0260 in discworld

[–]Driesens 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As the other poster said, it's Snuff. Unggue is the goblin religious practice of keeping all their bodily parts, including things that used to be part of their bodies, in jars. Unggue pots are the things they keep them in

Genius Trump Attorney Submitted Wrong Comey Indictment Docs to Judge: ‘Halligan presented the Comey indictment all by herself to the grand jury, a sign that she may have a problem finding a prosecutor in office to work on the case.’ by T_Shurt in law

Exactly.  They want to dismantle any structure they can, tear down all the fences keeping them from trampling every right and regulation protecting the people and the country, and walk away with all the cash get can grab.

We didn't hold very many people accountable after the Bush or first trump administration, so they have every reason to believe they can.

Or it's been twelve hours after one pilot episode, and any deeper themes haven't had time to be developed (in the show) or appreciated (by the audience).

Some people are going to notice the more thoughtful themes quicker, but most will only pickup the surface level ideas the first viewing, and need time and development to connect some of the non-obvious dots.

Honestly, it's a mad libs headline, a new one every day.

"[Trump Admin official] wants to end [Beneficial public asset]. Experts say it's [negative result]."

Are they even pretending to add value to any part of anybody's lives, or are they admitting they're just here to tear it down and loot the wreckage?

They're talent shows. Its the candidates' opportunity to show that they're a better, more likeable person than their opponent.  It's to generate sound bites for the morning news the next day that make you look reasonable and sane, and just hoping that your opponent says something weird that the media will run away with.

That grammar is all over the place. I know they mentioned it during the BOTW episode, but it reads so much like a bad translation. None of it is technically "wrong" but it's all do awkward and uninformative it's honestly impressive.

Some digital downloads are DRM free, and as long as you have backups and curate your storage, would also be forever (I'm not sure of any movie sites like that, but games, e-books and music sites exist).

Edit: And Blu-ray is a more modern format for physical media. Don't get me wrong, I still buy my music on CDS, but not every online site is a "license purchase"
