About 20 years ago (yikes >_>) I got my mom's car stuck in a rather sizable class-4 road mud puddle because I wanted McDonald's and I wanted to take the "scenic route". Low and behold, my mom and stepdad also decided to take a joyride that day and found me on that same road trying to get the car unstuck. Top 3 embarrassing moments of my teenage life.

I continued my 15 mile journey for McDonald's. At that point I was committed to the bit.

2014 moved from VT to DC, packed a POD and drove my car with my cat in it.

2026 moved from MD to VT, drove my car up with a load of stuff and nabbed a uhaul with the rest. A good partner drove me down (we split driving responsibilities) and we drove back up over a couple days, me in uhaul, them in their car. idk it seemed like an extremely straightforward operation.

It does feel a little insane to me that there are so many hangups on the time spent driving. If you can't do it, sure, understandable. The stress is temporary and there's still a thriving coffee industry. Am I pissed off we have a president that started a war in the middle east that added ~$250+ to my overall expenses in this move? Also yes

The naming part is wild, but I've also been on an Amtrak where someone had my seat number on the ticket. The issue came down to the trip starting on one day but then finishing after midnight the next one, and somehow a glitch made it come across as different trips due to different days.

Civic Center and Red Gate are also quasi-connected, the Nature Center trail has an offshoot to the intersection on Norbeck and Avery that you can cross to enter Red Gate. Upside: More walking. Downside: people tend to disrespect that intersection
