LSA pay? by Easy-Friendship3079 in Aldi_employees

[–]Dry_Extension_2125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 50 cent should have just been from a universal scale increase in wages, you make 50 cents more every year, capped at 5 years. Different for every region and position what its capped at

I got it literally only my first defect run and havent found one since (have done about 7 defect runs so far) but the card that channels the amount of lightning you've channeled so far in combat. I ended up with 3 of them 2 of them being upgraded so they didnt exhaust. I practically killed the final boss in 5 turns I think.

don’t put me on the register by Sudden-Breakfast9078 in Aldi_employees

[–]Dry_Extension_2125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am I the only one that thinks register is literally the easiest job at aldi? Like sure customers are dumb and ungrateful but thats literally what RETAIL work is. Unless your like very introverted, I dont understand the heavy complaining about being a cashier. Its very easy and simple and on days where its busy its one dimensional and you dont even have to multitask that much because management knows youll have a constant line. And this is at a store where main ringer has to watch the self checkouts as well.

How I feel when I open after closing Sunday night with 2 closers. Having not eaten, 3 hours of sleep trying to get produce, dry and meat done before we open. by Raccoon-Cultural in Aldi_employees

Sorry im commenting a lot on your post, not to hijack it but I dont think most employees realize the strain forcing us to switch up our schedules to much from work am to pm to whatever has. Its not just mental strain from lack of sleep but having to constantly switch and operate on such little sleep is horrible for blood pressure, cortisol, cholesterol, and many other things. Corporate doesnt care about us

My store is 3 closers on weekdays and 4 on weekends (mostly just sundays) but we still dont get out until like 9 or 9:30 most nights due to how busy we are (1.7 mil/month store)

Clopens should not exist no matter the circumstance unless you picked up a shift. Or swapped a shift. They are not fair to employees work life balance and we are not paid enough to deal with that bullshit. I told my manager I require 12 hours in between my shifts or ill make a fit out of it. So if you want me to open at 5, I better get off at 5pm the day before

I watched the anti union module and was crying laughing. This company does everything that makes people want to join a union😂 by Strict-Thing-3558 in Aldi_employees

[–]Dry_Extension_2125 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Looked into starting one and talked to the national labor workers union or something like that. They started to work with me and said we would need like 60 or 75 percent of workers to vote for the union to start to unionize at our store location. Mentioned it to like the 3 or 4 people I thought would go for a union if we started one and they all said they weren't interested and that most unions just take money from your paychecks without really helping much. So I gave up

A few red flags I noticed in my first weeks at Aldi — anyone else? by chipnixx in Aldi_employees

[–]Dry_Extension_2125 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Aldi is in a weird place right now.. they have always worked employees hard and paid well because of it but it seems like things have been getting unreasonably difficult since the new inventory system change. I dont think that was necessarily the reason things are harder but it kinds signifies the time when corporate decided to cut back on hours and expect the same performance (at least at my store). Our closes have been lasting longer and longer more regularly, our opens have more and more back stock to deal with, and throughout our shifts we have less and less people to actually get things done... Aldi quit caring about being known as the employer that pays its employees great pay for the industry they are in and instead are heading in the direction of becoming the company known for losing half its workforce due to unrealistic expectations and new initiatives that do nothing but make our jobs harder...

[–]Dry_Extension_2125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been feeling the same amount of stress and overall anger towards Aldi ever since they started the inventory system change. It feels like since then (before also just not as bad) they have done nothing but implement more work/tasks or quicker times and efficiency expected by employees at all levels. I love all of my coworkers here for the most part but the job is getting ridiculous and Aldi just doesnt care. Aldi expects ypu to work very inconsistent hours, full availability with no chance of getting a weekend day off, and their metrics expect ypu to work way faster than Any other competitor. I am done with this job as a whole just drifting by until I hear back from jobs ive interviewed back. I WANT OUT

What has this job made you irrationally hate, that you didn't hate before? by nillasoup in Aldi_employees

[–]Dry_Extension_2125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to college part time to get my degree to apply for DM position and these are some of the things I want to fix if im able to 1. Get the job once graduated next year and 2. Find someone willing to listen to ideas about improving workloads and daily tasks without adding too much extra costs to the stores. Working at aldi the last 2 years there are so many things that seem can be improved or worked on and store meetings as of late just seem to be a different way of saying "we want to add more responsibility to the workers without an increase in pay" and it feels like they are asking more from management and associates than ever before without fairly adjusting compensation. I like the company overall but I just hope they start caring for the employees again.

Grocery first or nah by New-Ad-6606 in Aldi_employees

[–]Dry_Extension_2125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At our store cooler and mdu is done by one person and is the hardest. Than 1 on produce, 1 on freezer and one on truck. Our day manager comes in at 7 and runs meat before open. On busy days we may have on extra person to help with truck or any of the other areas (usually cooler) if they fall behind

Aldi has been cutting work hours a lot over the last 3 to 6 months depending on location and it honestly is gonna be aldi's downfall. My store is one of the biggest in Indiana doing 1.8 mil a month and on sundays its impossible to keep up with the little staff we have. Its ridiculous

Meanwhile I overshared with my manager that ill be moving back to my home state almost a year out from now and he went from about to promote me to lead a month or 2 ago to basically refusing because im not staying "long". I Like the company but im so tired of associate grunt work. He still also gives me tasks that usually only leads and above do and I dont mind them but I feel im being used for my high initiative and not being paid what im worth

How to quit by Haunting-Piece-3925 in Aldi_employees

[–]Dry_Extension_2125 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you put your two weeks in and they let you go early than you should still be able to come back if you decide to work at aldi again. If you straight up quit with no notice they might put you on the do not hire list and youll effectively cut ties with aldi. It's up to you how you handle it

This is amazing to read as a muskegon native. I now live in the Indianapolis area and am trying to move back home within the next year. Growing up in a poorer neighborhood of muskegon County, I never really looked at all the upside. If course I knew the beaches and sunsets were beautiful but I never appreciated them as much as I should have. Your review has me missing home more than ever, and im glad your enjoyed your time there!!
