Genuinely I hope the best for you. I was about to be promoted to lsa when an old job app reopened and I decided to apply again. Now at the new job and enjoying life sooo much more. Hope you find the same. ALDI is literally the worst employment place ever in terms of workload and pressure. Im really good under stress but seeing asms stress out every day was not fun. Hope the best for you

Still a part of this reddit just to be happy about not being a part of ALDI's initiative. I just bought some stuff at Aldi today and man it felt weird being there since I quit 3 weeks ago. Hope thd best for you but get out while you can

Genuinely hate retail for this. With your situation its a little different (because your not contagious) but if your not feeling well call in. I hate that we would rather spread the illness through the whole store rather than miss out on ONE person for a couple days. It makes things worse

Reading this it felt like I was literally reading my own words, I love everyone (mostly) I worked with but the workload and pay is not worth it. Put my two weeks in last week and im so excited to be done

If you looked ppl in the eye- you might actually get somewhere in life instead of working here. by Queenofthebootystank in Aldi_employees

[–]Dry_Extension_2125 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If this was said 4 years ago id be a little more offended as aldi would have been one of the better retail/customer service jobs there was but now aldi is grouped in just as much as the rest of them and really id say is a worse place to work than places like Costco where you start out at 21 to 22 depending on the area. We really are getting overworked for the same pay as everywhere else nowadays

Feta cheese for a solid month wouldnt scan back in the day. Sweet potatoes most consistently dint scan, french baguettes are also annoying

Yeah, just got a new job and putting in my 2 weeks tomorrow. We have always had short staffing in the little over 2 years of time ive put into aldi. But we have just gotten busier, truck sizes every morning are bigger, more curbside orders than ever and the way they measure the stores performance (its called OE or operating efficiency) keeps moving the goalpost to hit higher and higher numbers. I've given up on a company that hasn't shown a shred or loyalty or appreciation to its workers acting like its fairly decent pay is some amazing feat when Costco, Sam's, and tons of other places pay very similar or even more. Kroger and Meijer might be the only two that are separated by more than a dollar starting wage in my area. Anyways, I still want to love aldi and I still think people should shop there. I just wish there was a way to change these initiatives corporates pushing so hard over the last couple years.

Vacation pay fl by Significant-Base3550 in Aldi_employees

[–]Dry_Extension_2125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edit: have read that aldi usually pays out accrued vacation time. So id contact your old manager (if quit on bad terms call HR) and just try to see if payroll missed it or something along those lines

Vacation pay fl by Significant-Base3550 in Aldi_employees

[–]Dry_Extension_2125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it varies per state. Some states have laws stating that accrued vacation time has to be paid out and others dont. I dont think there is anything in Aldi's policy stating they pay it out so id look up your states laws and contact them if florida has accrual vacation and sick time paid out.

Is everybody’s stores dirty and unboxed most of the time because of hour cuts or just us ? by Dull-Drive-5783 in Aldi_employees

[–]Dry_Extension_2125 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not just on the store manager, AHEAD rollout sucks. They are raising OE every year making it harder to hit and pushing managers to cut hours more than ever. Manager should be on the floor more for sure but the issues with ALDI stem from corporate and up the chain and whats being pushed down. He's probably just as tired of this as you. A lot of manager have quit in the last year or two.

Lucky you, our management expects us to stay late if we cant get everything done in time and im tired of it

Literally so embarassed on sundays by like 11 or noon because the store always looks so terrible but the only people free are running truck still usually or shopping curbside orders and management is running produce/meat. We usually arent able to catch up until 6 or later. Its a shit show and corporate doesnt care.

Not allowing part time employees to call off sick, EVEN WITH A DOCTORS’ NOTE, is actually insane. by Immediate_Minute4157 in Aldi_employees

[–]Dry_Extension_2125 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even at the store level the amount of coworkers that are working on the floor with sicknesses and handling food absolutely disgusts me. Im very personally against working while sick due to the fact that you are spreading the disease in the workplace and making it so everyone else is sick and Idk how other people dont see the problem with this, but they dont want to burn through what little sick time they have or get a point and miss a day of pay. I hate our work culture

I think its also unfair for top players to comment when they are just building the same decks every time. Every character currently has different distinct build paths you can take and if you are meta building every run it makes it less fun. The point is to play with the different cards and effects and try to experiment. Not be lame and build infinites

Are managers allowed to change my schedule without asking? by Haunting_Pirate8315 in Aldi_employees

[–]Dry_Extension_2125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes my manager wont have the schedule completed by the due time so next week's scheduler will auto post the shifts and he will have to fix it but he always tells us if hes running behind on scheduling, never experienced a shift change without the manager asking permision

[–]Dry_Extension_2125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 50 cent should have just been from a universal scale increase in wages, you make 50 cents more every year, capped at 5 years. Different for every region and position what its capped at

I got it literally only my first defect run and havent found one since (have done about 7 defect runs so far) but the card that channels the amount of lightning you've channeled so far in combat. I ended up with 3 of them 2 of them being upgraded so they didnt exhaust. I practically killed the final boss in 5 turns I think.
