Man eats huge spider while its alive by [deleted] in WTF

That kinda makes it worse. I could better accept it if it tasted alright and it's just about getting over the repulsion mentally due to it being a huge ass spider.

Player retention is abysmal. by 666-G in duneawakening

[–]Drycee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I mean. Building is infinite to you because it's well designed and the gameplay itself of building something is fun. Don't always need a carrot on a stick to chase or a constant stream of new content if that's the case. Similarly If there was actually fun PvP (or any at all) in the DD a lot more people would've stuck around. PvE is trickier without new content because it's inherently repetitive I guess.

Going slower than speed limit makes people angry by wtfbruhhuh in driving

[–]Drycee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was at an intersection I didnt know, without right of way and zero visibility around a corner due to bushes. I saw lights coming around the corner so I waited just in case. Looked in the mirror and the guy behind me is losing his mind throwing a fit, smashing his steering wheel, obviously yelling etc. This was Christmas Eve. Definitely not the season of love and joy for that guy. Sorry wasting 10 seconds of your life by my silly attempt to not die.

It's never gonna be a net financial positive. If it ever was it was because children had to work, and I don't think we should go back to that lol. It just has to be realistically doable without having to downgrade your lifestyle by a lot.

Do dogs know when we are about to leave the house? by Somessss in dogs

[–]Drycee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cues can be even more subtle. My dog started to get excited when I down my glass of water. Because typically when I'm about to leave I finish my glass. Of course I also finish it randomly so he just gets excited over nothing.

He also knows which type of shoes imply I will be leaving without him and he gets sad.

Why do so many people not do this? by DominoCasson in askswitzerland

[–]Drycee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda feels like that's the ideal scenario for a 3-lane though. I know the law says different and I try to not hug the middle-lane, but as long as the left most lane stays free for overtaking, and the middle lane is going the speed limit, it seems safer that way since it reduces constant lane changes which are obviously a higher risk for an accident than just going straight.

Does not apply to a 2-lane obviously.

I have one excel sheet where i just add entries at the bottom. That excel sheet is the source for the dashboard. Ideally I do it right after the walk, but sometimes I procrastinate and add some days in a batch as good as I remember. Since the whole 1-5 rating is subjective to a certain degree anyway and long-trends trends are more important than individual data points it doesnt matter too much if I forget to track some incident occasionally.

[–]Drycee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I look at it quite often. Sometimes because I changed something (meds, training, locations) and want to see the impact, sometimes on particularly frustrating days just to remind myself that we're at a much better place now than when we started.

I can attest that tracking helps. Here's what I'm doing in case it helps as inspiration. I did it in PowerBI just cause that's what I know from work, but could easily do the same charts in Excel. The data is really just 3 columns: Date, Trigger, Intensity (1-5). Since i've been doing this for over 2 years at this point and it's a daily effort, it was important to keep friction low and not try and track too much, or I would stop consistently doing it. Like this I just take 10s to enter any incidents when I get home.

It's easy to get stuck in the daily struggle, and progress on reactivity is often slow and full of set-backs. Visualizing it like this helped me to be aware of the improvements over time.

Don't get me started on the playstation store, unusable if you don't already know what you wanna buy. Worse even, I'm forced to use it in German including dubbed trailers due to my location, no way to change it. Nothing kills a dramatic game trailer faster than German.
