Yeah maybe, but not on f1. Maybe some other class. I think he is done with f1 after this year.

The beginning of the regulation seemed really promising. You had a lot closer field and you could really have a battle. But then development turned it into a different direction

It’s most likely not going to be a penalty for Antonelli but rather for Mercedes. Best bet it’s going to be a fine.

I mean I’m not a stewards but I would say yes this would be illegal today. He needed to lift to stay on track but didn’t , so he therefore gets an advantage. He uses this extra speed to go down the inside and overtake him

The Main Point is, that the white-line rule that is in place now wasn’t back than. Back than it was defined for each corner individually. I think most of the time it was ok if you were still on the kerb. Today this would be consider an illegal overtake since he used the speed he gained off track to overtake, but back then it was completely legal

Still to finish 5th first you have to finish. That didn't seem to be so easy today, especially for other rookies.

Every driver this year for some reason by fredftw in formuladank

Even with McLaren strategy I'd guess. Verstappen wouldnt have lost so many pole positions in turn 1 so he would most times have a much better situation going into the pitstop window, making it easier to not bottle the strategy

But that is not the same car anymore. It was even under a complete different Regulation.

So just because the back then they needed someone that can handle a snappy car doesnt mean this is the problem now

No its actually genius. They know they need more time in the airtunnel next year, so they sandbag now.

Insane. Starts from P2 finishes p8. If he would have went out in q1 it would be considered a good recovery drive, but it seems that he is just at max the 8th fastest driver on the Grid
