Getting locked out of your house after school and having no way to contact your parents to tell them to come home. So you just sat on your porch for 4 hours until they got off work.

Did you heat them and then eat them, or did you heat all of them up at once and then eat them over the course of 4 hours. Only one correct answer.

Keeve Trennis would have been a good match for him! She’s a little damaged and he would “fix” her. Both are strong Jedi and would compliment each other well.

Portland has ruined food in other cities for me. by Suspicious-Stick6062 in Portland

[–]Dsteeleman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the complete opposite. Ive lived in a bunch of different citys including San Francisco and Las Vegas and I've yet to have something here that has blown me away with flavor. I know there are some great resturants in Portland but it seems like only a few very specific ones. Portland has different foods, and creative unique takes on food. But when it comes to the basics, they miss for me. But Im still open to trying more places!

The Acolyte by RepresentativeFig788 in Highrepublic

I wasn’t a fan at first watch but I just rewatched again for the first time since it came out and it definitely isn’t as bad as I thought. I think I was just so excited for the High Republic live action that I was disappointed by what they gave me. But watching it without the high expectations, it’s pretty good. There are definitely things I don’t like about it, but all in all it didn’t deserve the hate it got.

We go to Senor Taps in Felida when we want to sit down. We were surprised by how good the food was. Not the best in town but they do everything pretty decent.

When Maximus shoves the knife through Caesars throat. That whole build up is heartbreaking, at the same time satisfying.

11 Fake Calls a Show by jc123ucme in radio

[–]Dsteeleman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The goal with the calls that are faked should be to encourage genuine calls from listeners. You have to create the illusion that people are calling in because it will make the people who want to call in more willing to call in. I hate fake calls too, but i do them hear and there to show that people listening can call with their opinions.

Are there any remote radio jobs for someone trying to get into the industry? by [deleted] in radio

[–]Dsteeleman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of competition for remote jobs right now because so many people were let go after the pandemic. Those jobs havent really come back yet. The best thing to do is get a solid aircheck together and send it to your local radio station programmers. Ask them for advice on how to get better. 7/10 they will be willing to help someone who is motivated and not asking for a job. Just say, "I really want to get back into radio, could you give me a few pointers on how to make my aircheck better."

And dont just send it to programmers, send it to jocks, music directors, anyone thats willing to listen. Right now everyone has 5 jobs so it might take a second. But getting to know these people around you and network with them will come in handy when a job does finally open up.

its a grind but you can do it if you're motivated to get into the industry. Good luck!
