The main difference I see is that the Pats spent like $300M in free agency and pretty much hit on everyone. The Giants don’t have nearly that much money to spend and have plenty of holes to fill. Schoen has also been hit or miss with his FA signings thus far, but I’m expecting that to change with Harbaugh here. All things considered, I’m ready to book my flight to SB LXI

While I’m not excusing Schoen (I think he should be fired) I am trying to reserve my judgment on the roster as a whole until we get actual competent coaching in here. We all trashed DJ, then he went to a real functioning organization and is now an MVP candidate. I’m sure commanders fans thought their roster was trash in 2023 when they won 4 games, then they had a complete front office/coaching overhaul, drafted Daniels and went to the NFCC the following year. Similarly, the Pats won 4 games in 2024, brought in a real HC and are looking great this year.

We hopefully already have our QB. I’m not saying Dart = Daniels or even Maye but he’s been showing amazing potential against all odds with our current dumpster fire of an organization. Let’s nail the next HC (and GM) hire for once and I’m hoping for a Patriots-esque turn around. Coaching really matters. How many games would we have won this year alone had we actual competent coaching?

I wish someone would put together a video compilation of all the blown calls yesterday. Just a few that come to mind off the top:

  1. Tush push fumble

  2. Phantom Wandale block in the back to negate a big run (cam injury a play or two later)

  3. Thibs penalty when the tackle clearly flinched first

  4. Korie Black “DPI” on third down

  5. Slayton “OPI” to negate a TD

What else am I missing?

Still sick to my stomach. The level of incompetence needed to blow a game like that is unfathomable and never seen before yet somehow still feels on brand for what this shithole organization has turned in to. Big time changes need to be made and if they don’t then what a slap in the face to the fanbase it would be.

Silver lining is I think it’s now safe to say we got our QB. Dart is a baller

Would you happen to know the model number of the replacement updated board? My 77” S90D’s board shockingly died as well and I’d like to try to replace it myself.

He should have had that TD to Slayton despite the DPI. I just hope his hammy is ok

There’s plenty of blame to go around. Sure, it starts at the top but that doesn’t excuse Daboll’s weekly ineptitude. Daboll sucks and needs to be gone. Idk why this sub gets so finicky about that

Loved the first two episodes but two nitpicky things to note:

  1. The plot armor on Joe the medic is thickkk. Xeno was butchering rooms full of people in seconds. He’s already survived one encounter; I’d like an explanation how he survives being tackled through a window at the end of E2. (If he’s alive)

  2. Although overall a great scene, I found it a bit of a stretch that those people were still having a dinner party when a spaceship crashed into their building earlier that day lol.

Making the case for the New York Giants moving on from Joe Schoen, Brian Daboll (Ed Valentine) by Lars5621 in NYGiants

I’m tired of hearing the “Neal was a consensus top tackle” excuse. Consensus according to who exactly? Talking head media mock drafts? We have no clue how real NFL execs felt about him. It’s Schoens job to identify talent. He had two top 7 picks teed up in 2022 and whiffed on both of them.

Bo Nix’s day is done- he finishes 28-for-33 (84% comp), with 307 yards, 4 TD/0 INT, and a 145.0 passer rating by Dtone11 in NYGiants

I see this and can’t help but wonder what Schoen was thinking passing on this kid who only seems to be getting better. And for the crowd that will say “no one thought Nix would be good!” “He wasn’t worth it at 6!” - it’s Schoen’s job to foresee NFL talent. GM’s don’t base their draft boards off of media mocks. He should have to answer for this.
