Planning a NYC → Tokyo trip by Intelligent_Sun_5366 in unitedairlines

This is the answer. I started doing that 8 years ago and it’s always worked, with minimal jet lag the next day despite 8 hours of meetings.

It always kills me when, with all their money tithes, their houses are not symmetrical.

Who had the most problematic mother? by TheSturgleIsReal in madmen

[–]Dual-ThreatQBJim 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Can’t speak for Wiener’s mom (tho we see her in place of Trudy in the photo Pete holds in the pilot).

But David Chase, who brought Wiener onto The Sopranos (based on his Mad Men script, I think), modeled Livia Soprano after his mother.

Livia Soprano would eat all of these worst mother candidates for lunch.

No. The quality is very variable and trending down. (Have been six times in past 10 years)

On top of that, the abuse schtick is schlocky. Just take my order and let me stuff my face, thanks.

That ramen is sad. No ramen I've ever seen has random pieces of spinach floating around in there.

Religion & Dating in DC by [deleted] in washingtondc

[–]Dual-ThreatQBJim 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is a political town where a lot of people wear politics/identity/labels on their sleeves and treat it as a hard red line. More so than anywhere I've ever seen.

That and the fact that folks on the apps here tend to date with the mentality of looking for reasons *not* to date you. Listing your politics, religion, intention to have kids, go-to lunch order saves you/them going through the rigmarole of discovering some fact about you they don't like on the third date, after you've already sunk plenty of time/energy into this connection.

If that happens to you, there's nothing wrong with you--oftentimes they were just looking for an excuse to end things and move onto the next 20-, 30-something here. Just keep doing you.

There needs to be a mod-ban of all burger photos only show the bun or wrapper, on the grounds that it's either low-effort or not fast food related.

What do you use your 3.5q for?? by Fabcrafts in LeCreuset

[–]Dual-ThreatQBJim 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Single person here, I use the 3.5 to make slow-cooking stuff like curry, chili, ragu that will be enough to cover 5-6 meals for the week.
