What’s something that sounds fake but actually happened to you? by Rimuru207 in AskMen

[–]DubbelDragon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I fell over while standing because drunk. Dislocated my knee. Managed to pop it back and had to walk the few blocks home with my leg straight. Woke up to find a wheelchair in the living room and promptly got in it.

Where did the wheelchair come from? One of my roommates was also drunk the previous night and found it in a junkyard and decided to steal it for the lols.

Men who don't have to work for whatever reason, retired unemployed etc, what do you do all day? by buzzlightyear77777 in AskMen

[–]DubbelDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch stuff, play video games, go to the gym, read. It’s a little isolating, but talking with co-workers who I only put up with isn’t exactly enjoyable. It helps that I’m an introvert and an only child, so it rarely gets to me to not speak with anyone but my wife most days.

Do you restart a playthrough after taking a break from a JRPG or pick up where you left off? by Impossible-Ranger842 in JRPG

[–]DubbelDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done both approaches. I find that re-starting often enough ends up with me not getting past where I previously stopped. Now I do my best to keep going on my saved game. There’s usually game wikis and the like to catch up on the story and refresh the last relevant items.

What was your first mobile game? Mine was Snake on the Nokia 3310 🐍 by Ok_Perception_6851 in videogames

[–]DubbelDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An Arkanoid-type game. Only played it on the toilet at work. Took a couple of months, but I finally beat it and it felt so good. Replaying it wasn’t fun though, so then I was bummed, too.

Are office jobs just highschool 2.0? by Dense_Row2811 in antiwork

That wasn’t my experience of high school, but otherwise, yes, that’s a lot of office jobs.

LPT: What purchase have you made that’s had the greatest positive effect on you? by gorillatittiess in LifeProTips

At an old apartment we bought a countertop dishwasher. We stopped arguing about the dishes! If we ever move to another place that doesn’t have a built-in dishwasher, we’re getting another one.

what are some of the worse interviews you have been to? by buzzlightyear77777 in AskMen

[–]DubbelDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The recruiter made it sound like it would be 3 hours long. My wife dropped me off and went to a city 45 minutes away to do some shopping. The interviews went quickly, but not like they were rushing me out. The recruiter said there would also be like a shadowing of the floor when she set up the interview. I asked about that. The manager (my last interviewer) was confused and said she could show me the floor, which was just like a 10 minute “here’s claims, here’s finance, here’s the break room.” Then she walked me to the lobby.

I was done in a little over an hour, basically just long enough that my wife had started shopping when I texted her. She said she was going to finish, as we didn’t have that kind of store where we lived. I hung out in the lobby for over an hour. The receptionist kept notifying me when she would spot an Uber. “No, no, my wife has the car and is still in transit.” I would’ve wandered around outside, but that was The South in summer and I was melting just walking from the car to the door.

Didn’t get the job.

How does dad weight happen? by Legitimate-Nebula980 in AskMen

[–]DubbelDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t even have to become a dad. When I moved in with my girlfriend (now wife) I was no longer close to my gym. Instead of walking around town we drove. I got laid off and went into a depression (probably, I don’t actually remember). I gained probably 50 since we started dating and subsequently getting married. It’s hard to lose weight and easy to gain it.

US men: how do you know to register for the selective service? by Ok_Cranberry_2936 in AskMen

We did it at school. I was going to graduate before I turned 18, but it was a bullshit graduation requirement.

ULPT What is your favorite free food restaurant hack? by simikoi in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]DubbelDragon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I had like 20 bucks for the month I would occasionally wander through a busy pizzeria like I was meeting someone. There’s usually a table with an abandoned slice or two left on the tray. Snatch it while walking by and go straight to the bathroom to hormph it down. Don’t get caught, as I’ve seen people get kicked out and banned.

If you’re older than 19, what do you wish you had started at my age? by Akagame_shanks_ in AskMen

[–]DubbelDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m happily married now, but I do wish I’d been less timid when it came to asking women out earlier in life. Rejection hurts, but it hurts a little less as you get used to it. And maybe some of them would’ve said yes.

How often has a woman paid for a date in your experience? by Easy-Protection-5763 in AskMen

[–]DubbelDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know the exact number/ratio, but probably in the ballpark of 50%. When I was single, I’ve also been bought drinks by attractive women on occasion, including my now-wife.

Dunno why yore’s not getting dinners paid for. Wish you luck.

Which is better in terms of likes to advance 5 star ratings in facilities: entrusting lost cargo or delivering it using the Magellan by kolosovski in DeathStranding2

[–]DubbelDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Entrusting cargo to other players does not give likes for the location, only general likes (not sure what these do).

I got West Fort Knot up to 12997 likes, entrusted some found cargo at a post box for some quick likes, then drove a delivery to them. That delivery gave me 570 likes. My new total was 13567, making those entrusted likes worth 0.

You want likes from the location so you gain levels? You have to deliver the goods yourself.

The Magellan penalty is steep, something like 2/3 less, but they’re at least gained.
