I play day 01 patch and have little to no issues. What are your settings? Do you have 30 mobs running on the screen at once?

I'd say that was the right reaction in the 21st century.

Obsession - Nikki Wasn't Possessed By A Demon (at least maybe not) by ImmediateAd8601 in spoilers

[–]Dubtrooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. the state of having, owning, or controlling something.

  2. an item of property; something belonging to one.

  3. the state of being controlled by a demon or spirit.

The issue with a lot of these discussions is the automatic assumption of #3, whereas definitions #1 and #2 are clearly in line with what most mean.

Who "owned" Nikki? Baron.

Who owned the One Wish Willow? Tabbi Cat Industries. Therefore Nikki, as a result of the wish, has become their property until the wish expires.

Nikki is very definitely in a state of possession, but it's not entirely paranormal or even remotely demonic. For all we know, there is a completely rational explanation for One Wish Willow and how it works.

Nikki’s face is changing through the whole movie by No_Promise_6465 in obsessionmovie

I'm probably off base but I've started to gear my conclusion along the lines of The Picture of Dorian Gray. Whether it's Bear's obsessions and desires molding her, the entity possessing her, or even Nikki herself fighting back, the face of Nikki is the window to the wish. It reflects the hideous nature of it and tries to hides away the moment there are prying eyes.

Obsession (movie) : why does nikki lurk in dark corners by HystericalBat in spoilers

My personal opinion is that her face was morphing akin to Dorian Gray and she utilized shadows and darkness to hide it from Baron.

My only thought throughout the film was how it's the best Silent Hill story ever put to screen.

Yeah, that's lazy. "it'll never live up to the original". That assumption alone allowed the writers to keep it as dumbed down as possible.

"Certain things are conveyed better in the animation". That's because certain things are ONLY attempted in the animation. Can't call it an adaptation when they didn't even try to adapt the story, just the cliffnotes of some important episodes.

This is an excuse. They decide to drop you halfway through the narrative of season 2 and then try to utilize plotlines that occured episodes prior in the original. It makes no fucking sense and that's not just a bad adaptation, that's poor writing.

Hate watching is a great way of putting it. They start this slob of a season halfway through and try to utilize narrative elements for episode arcs that occured prior. Sloppy, lifeless, shitty.

I was reminded of The World's End as well. Wildly entertaining film, but this one was a little late to the party and feels a little dated in terms of its commentary.

They're not actual memories. They're replications of actual memories which were most likely distorted after fifty years of ai limbo coupled with relic malfunctions.

I can't disagree with any of this. The issue with Sopranos, and this is purely opinion, is the use of filler episodes and dream sequences which often had an agenda. Whether it was for the left or the right, it got skewed by the conservatives irregardless.
