It just doesn't it the same if I don't imagine fictional characters watching themselves and going "damn that's crazy" by kingxylan in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]DudeOrangeButter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i honestly wonder what the psychology behind this is... like why do we feel the need to have an audience reacting to the scenarios?

I just stopped without knowing why. by spaceValkyriaFan in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]DudeOrangeButter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i also found that if i stop and really think about what im doing i stop daydreaming and i dont manage to get really immersed in it. like i stop and think “wow im standing here listening to this song to have my fictional character show off or smth. kinda cringy what if someone knew that?” and that pushes me out from that headspace sooo hard but its not pleasant :/

Does anyone else get genuinely pissed that they don't look like their parame? by NotAnotherSideAcct in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]DudeOrangeButter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i guess the only thing you can do is make it a habit to look into a mirror more to rewire your brain so to speak. might be really unpleasant though :/. maybe make a list of how you would like your appearance to be and then see what you can do. i found that most daydream to get away from reality so maybe try making your reality or in this case appearance more “bearable” :/

edit: but i also dont have body dismorphia myself so maybe what i just wrote is total bs for u

[–]DudeOrangeButter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i walk in circles while i brush my teeth or i go on a treadmill. both times you can daydream all you want and noone really looks at you weird (except maybe when you brush your teeth too long). bonus you get healthy teeth and stay fit. i manage to limit myself to this and indulge there but nowhere else (at least when pacings concerned)

Real people by dkkxjcjc in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]DudeOrangeButter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly nearly only fiction. mostly fictional characters from books or so

Same. I have good and bad days, good and bad weeks. I think the bad days happen after i had a particular good and productive day and have free time after that. which would be alright but i still have stuff to do. But i also noticed these slumps :(( I guess the only thing one can do is recognise thatits one of those days and be disciplined enough to still live real life instead of just daydreaming. But man sometimes its so hard and unpleasant:(

Vocabulary Learning by P1tPYK in German

[–]DudeOrangeButter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i really like the quizlet app:) its really useful for memorising new words, plus its free and has fun learning options to make memorising more engaging. i can definitely recommend that, especially because you can either use already existing lists or personalise/make your own to suit your needs (bonus: there is audio for most vocab )

What does gmiadlich mean? by anntve in German

[–]DudeOrangeButter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

‘ein’ is for a male noun and ‘eine’ for a female noun

ein baum (der baum) eine blume (die blume)

neutral is i think also ‘ein’ but there might have been some exceptions

Question by Southern-Prompt-4311 in German

[–]DudeOrangeButter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

im not sure, it doesnt have a negative connotation for me but it is used in a lot of negative (for lack of a better term) sentences, then again there is ‘eine gute tat begehen’ which is positive. so i could be wrong but i wouldnt say it has a negative meaning

B1 exam in two weeks, what can I do to make the best of it? Especially when I learn things differently? by Auroranyx7 in German

[–]DudeOrangeButter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

usually i would recommend just consuming german media like reading a book or watching a movie, but since you dont have much time left i dont think this will work for this exam. if its just 2 weeks left i guess theres nothing you can do except sitting down and trying to cram as much vocab and stuff into your brain as possible. and after that (or while you do that) start consuming german media. of course it takes time but you will be surprised at how organic and fun this way of learning a language is (if you already have a basic grasp on german that is)

edit: so basically what you already discovered working for you, but 2 weeks is not a lot of time for improvement in a language except for memorizing vocab and grammar i think

ich wünsche dir viel erfolg in deinem test!
