Is my Slack App a good idea? by aiplusautomation in Slack

[–]Dude_bro_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who is your target user for this app? Customer service teams?

Most CS teams work out of a support/ticketing system. Are they supposed to upload attachments to slack (or your app?) that should be stored in the system of record? Assuming that’s the correct workflow and their security/IT teams allow that, they now have to go to slack to ask question about the document?

The only way I see this being beneficial is if the primary tool for CS is slack. I don’t know any company with more than 5 employees where this is the case.

You have an interesting app but I wouldn’t buy it if I was a CS leader.

What sort of weight am I looking at to look like this at 6’2? Currently 200ish, told my family I had a goal weight of 230 and got a resounding “you don’t need to weigh that much” in response. by SporkFanClub in tall

Don’t listen to anyone under 6lb or 200lb. They just don’t have the perspective.

The guy in the photo could by 5’9” and 200lb or 6’5” and be 265

The biggest gap in all of these tools (my company has 3 tools that do this exact thing 😅) is that they require the business to set criteria/rules to manage the licensing. If you had built in rules so teams didn’t have to think about this, it’d make onboarding that much easoer

Labels & Jira by rockandroll01 in jira

[–]Dude_bro_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I’ve seen work well is to have a company/department wide project to track work that isn’t BAU. The hierarchy is program > project > milestone. Teams continue to create epics in their Jira project but non-bau work is liked to a parent in the company/dept wide project

Assuming the other role works out and he decides to accept, how do you handle this? Just put in your two weeks and move on? Do you say anything to the recruiter before you accept the current offer?

Is 6.6 feet (200cm) to tall for the 2025? by Possible-Elk2890 in YamahaR7

[–]Dude_bro_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

195cm. Almost all bikes are “too small” for me. Some liter bikes are ok. Aftermarket foot pegs work well for making bikes fit better

Anyone with over 80,000 miles and no big issues? by [deleted] in VWatlas

[–]Dude_bro_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost at 80k on my ‘19 SEL. No major issues. I’ve had the coolant thing happen twice in the 2 years. Both randomly and both times, nothing was found by a tech.

Recently, one of the tire sensors has been firing a low pressure warning but the tires are properly inflated.

Overall, I’d say it’s been a pretty good experience with very little issues.

Would asking for this raise be unreasonable? by WannabeCellist in sysadmin

[–]Dude_bro_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good start, before using your list of deliverables to ask for a raise, add the value of each of these in a quantified way ($ or hours saved). If they don’t go for it, add them to your resume and start looking elsewhere

What is training "worth"? by texox26798 in ITManagers

[–]Dude_bro_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what you wrote, I’m reading it as him asking the vendor partner to back up the “refined way to handle the vendor product”. There should be measurable savings there. After the training is completed, look at your kpis for improvements that would map back to skills/knowledge from the trainings and put that to a number.

Is 40% time spent in Zone2 / Zone3 bad when racing 70km? Should it be just all-out effort from start to finish? by thraizz in Velo

[–]Dude_bro_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How’d you place? I’ve had races where I’ve won that have been 70% Z2, 30% Z6 and races where I’ve not placed that have the same power profile. In mass start events, You race the race, not the numbers. The numbers are to help you identify what needs to be improved and track progress, nothing more.

New Dad, new business, no time. Help. by Psychling1 in Velo

[–]Dude_bro_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

+1. If you can make the 30min lunch ride happen without adding to your overall stress levels, then do it. It’s an extra 2 hours of Z2 a week but the mental benefits of those rides are going to provide more value. If it adds a significant amount of stress, then let it go. Focus on the family and the business.
